You unlock it automatically after filling a couple pasture boxes (I think it's when you're halfway of your second). The lady explains you how to use the feature when that happens.

Oh ffs lol. I've never filled the second one I just kept releasing all the extras. Alright well next trip out I'll just go catch like 60+ and hopefully that'll unlock it. Typical pokemon, let's hide a really cool feature behind something else and don't tell you about it lol.
