Hi guys,
I did some mistakes, which don't seem to be easily curable without re-initialization of the entire system. So my question is - if I execute "Initliaze" on a 9.0 JB PS4, will it try to upgrade to the newest FW in the process or will the current firmware remain? Thanks!!

you can either initialize with or without installing the firmware. I'd suggest the latter if it's a software problem. it will ask you where you'd like to install the update from, so you can select usb and it won't try to install the latest firmware.

Cool, thanks! And my external HDD formatted as extended storage will still be usable after the re-init?

it worked, but only after I pluged the external HDD in and out after the re-init. i had to do it because after i used "apollo save tool" i had some weird issues with online connectivity and downloading of official PKG updates for games (totally unwanted), plus I couldn't connect by using PSRemotePlay anymore. so be careful guys with using the "PSN offline activation" - it can cause a lot of troubles.

yesterday I restored my console and today I did the psn activation using the karo tool on your host, so far no problem. Regarding apollo, I had made a backup of saved data of several games, when restoring them, they only worked in some games. Also, when closing the app, the console itself turned off and when starting again, the console was asking for the initial configuration.

karo didn't work for me at all, just crashed immediately and brought the HEN to crash too

So if I go into safe mode and use initialize but not the one with (Reinstall system software). Would I still stay on 9.00?

either one you could stay on 9.00. I've formatted my hdd before on 5.05, and I was able to reinstall 5.05. the system will ask you where you'd like to install the update from, so just choose "usb device" or whatever it says.
