I still have a launch day Switch and may be getting a Switch OLED. I was wondering if it was possible to install CFW on the original Switch, back up all of my data (games, saves, dlc, etc) and then transfer that data using the Nintendo transfer tool to the OLED model. After the transfer tool wipes the original Switch I wanted to then put all of the backed up data back onto the system and essentially have two Switches with the same saves etc. Is this possible and easy?

Switch allows only for sharing saves and game updates.
You can't transfer games and DLCs.
Seriously, don't answer if you don't know what the hell you're talking about. You can keep them on both consoles, and switch between the two, even, unlike on the 3DS/New3DS. You just can't use DLC -simultaneously- on both. Full explanation here:

You can install anything onto the CFW Switch anyway. I personally keep it offline while in CFW, and only install things in emuemmc.

OP: Take 2 seconds to Google, before asking here.

TL;DR

Backups are ALWAYS a good thing. But not even absolutely necessary in this case. You can choose to keep everything on the old console even after transferring it. You do have to (and can, for free) re-download the actual game files and stuff from the e-shop.

By the way, I just picked up a white OLED Switch myself

Did you even read what author asks?
They don't ask about redownloading stuff from eshop...
They want to "transfer" all stuff with "Nintendo transfer tool" (which obviously doesn't exist).
Connecting account and downloading stuff is not transferring. You can't even download saves from cloud for all games, so you cannot make that way copy 1:1 of data.

Only transferring tools are "Transfer Your Save Data" and "Match Version With Local Users".

Go home, you're drunk.

The saves are a direct transfer. You don't need them on a cloud. Yes, the transfer deletes it from the source, but did YOU read what the OP asked?

He wants to copy the data back, which yes, you can do on a CFW switch. And IF the saves are on the cloud... yes you can grab them on the new console, but not at the same time as the old. You de-register the old in the eshop as the primary, then simply open the eshop on the new one, and it becomes your primary. And you can use the saves.

Although... if you choose that you will continue to use the old console, the save files won't transfer in bulk. You have to do it 1 by 1. The FASTEST way to transfer is to:

1) make a full emmc backup in NYX
2) Copy entire card to PC
3) Do the transfer and say you will not continue the old console

After the transfer is complete

4) Re-link the old one to your NNID (Assuming it was unlinked... I didn't choose that option...)
5) copy all of the old files back to the sd
6) restore the emmc

This is what OP is suggesting in the first place.

I'm not drunk yet, but I'll be there shortly. And you have absolutely no imagination or clue about what you can do with a CFW console. I also have a 1:1 Launch-day 3DS and New3ds. And get this... I can use the same SD card in both because of a simple bit of hex editing to the movable.sed file in the nand...
