Softmodding a Japanese 2DS

Hi there,

Yesterday, I used this guide to softmod my NA 3DS XL.



I was wondering if the same guide could be used is I were to import a Japanese 2DS (one of the clear Pokémon editions).

I recently softmodded a Japanese N3DS using the homebrew guide. An extra step you'll need to take is getting a US firmware to flash to it otherwise you will be stuck with Japanese text for all menus.

Can you connect to the eshop after installing the US firmware? I recently bough a japanese 3ds hacked that come with a US firmware but with a nintendo id that it was logged back when the console was in japanese. I don't know if doing a factory reset would allow me to connect to the eshop without a NID.
