I have an arcade machine setup with a xbox 360 and it works great, but I am missing my Nintendo itch.
I have a wii softmodded with wiiflow and games setup.

I set this wii up many years ago, so everything is a bit fuzzy, I can't remember much on softmodding etc.

Ideally I would love a setup that is workable without using the wiimotes. I know this might not be possible but I'm just wanting to put my brainstorming up to see if there are any options I am missing or issues I will run into.

I have a piiwee board from toodles that allows me to hookup my arcade controls to act as a classic controller and I also have a Gamecube to PS2 adapter so could wire it up to that as well.

Ideally I would use only one so that I don't have to swap them out depending on the games.

So my main requirements for my ideal setup is.
1. having all the games utilise 1 form of controller wii classic controller or gamecube controller.
2. have a way to select games and use menus with said controller (so a way to select games and exit games back to the loader)

I remember seeing somewhere where there was an option to convert GC controller options to wii classic controller, but I have a feeling that was only for GC games.
I also remember there where mods for games like new supermario bros and donkey kong country where the wii shake remote controls where changed to the classic controller or gamecube controller, are these still available? I tried finding them but had no luck.

any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

just found PortablizeMii on BitBuilt I think that is going to be the way to go.
Plus just realised the classic controller can move the cursor in the menus so I'm all set :D

Question is there a program like RV Loader that can convert Classic controller to Wiimote instead of Gamecube to WiiMote.

With respect to emulators this is just a configuration issue. You just need to select for/configure emulators to use your preferred controller configuration. Aside from Atari 2600 (damn you, Wii2600) I play every emulated game with a Gamecube controller on my Wii.

Nintendont, the main GC launcher used these days on Wii hardware, has support for a variety of controllers, including classic controllers.

Wii is where it gets complicated. There is no overall Wii-motion-control-game conversion to Gamecube or other traditional control scheme. It's almost inconceivable that there would be. Most Wii games were designed for a controller with a gyroscope and a camera. There's just no consistent and simple way to translate that to something lacking those inputs. Individual games have patches/mods that attempt to permit traditional controllers, but it adds up to a very small slice of the Wii library.

2. have a way to select games and use menus with said controller (so a way to select games and exit games back to the loader)
This part does have a solution. Priiloader is configured to launch Wiiflow Lite on boot on my Wii, which is navigable by Gamecube controller. But you can use whatever launcher/backup loader you want, I think most all of the common ones let you use Gamecube controllers to control the menu.

I also use Wiiflow plugins to launch various emulators via the Source Menu, they are mostly configured to return to loader on exit, but you can also force some of that behavior with a Priiloader setting.

The only thing I can't do with a Gamecube controller is turn my Wii on.
