Hey all I just wanted to ask a quick question if anyone knows if this has been done yet or not?

So I wanna watch my YouTube/Netflix on the wii u but everytime I launch it, it tells me that I need a Nintendo Network ID in order to use the apps. I personally dont wanna log into my account as I dont really want it linked to my wii u. Does anyone know if there is a patch to bypass the Nintendo Network ID? Like the NOPSN apps on PS3? Or is it just how the apps are and always will be designed?

Well I have the YouTube app and it just says "A Nintendo Network ID is required in order to use this software. Would you like to link one now?" With the options of cancel or link.

Is there a workaround for it or is YouTube on wii u just like that?

I am also very curious about a way to bypass the NNID check for Netflix like it does on the PS3 with the NO PSN version. The application is likely still working besides that check as it was probably not an API change that made the Wii U version stop working, my tv's netflix app hasn't been updated since 2015 and still works. I've been trying to figure out how the NO PSN team does that patch so I can have maybe the slightest idea of what to look out for even if these are very different systems but no success. If anyone talented enough got on this I'm sure it could be done.

Yeah It would be really cool to watch YouTube on the Wii U if someone were to make a custom made app for it. Maybe instead of a home app maybe a homebrew app but who knows? Hopefully one day someone can maybe bypass it but it's not a huge deal anyways. Just thought I'd ask if it had been done yet or not?

IIRC, you can still watch it through the web browser, just not ideal.

The youtube app still works for Wii U, just use it?
