ROM Hack Pokemon Cry Editing

I would like to modify some Pokemon cries in the 3DS games (starting with ORAS) - I have not been able to find any guides on doing so, and I am in particular confused as to how to extract, identify, and modify the relevant sound files from their location in a/1/0/0.

I am looking for a guide or tools for this, if any exist, or pointers on how I might research this myself if none currently exist.

Actually, I have created an AR code for that in the past. Perhaps I can add it to an update of my plugin some time soon if you're still interested
