About time! surprisingly no company wanted to pick this up for localizing despite having the anime brought over officially but for some odd reason never the games...

Now i bet you once this patch gets tons of traffic i 100% guarantee you that some company is gonna see this and finally localize so they won't miss out on the cash flow they could've gotten earlier.

There is - you need to set in settings "Skip only read lines" to "NO" and when playing chapter press R button.

Practically there is. But I don't have one to put there. If someone will send me logo good enough, then I will consider putting it to mod.

Ah, then only with sys-tweak. It allows showing custom titles.

Finally can read Higurashi after all these years and the best version available no less. But fuck me, my Switch backlog just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Thanks a lot for this @masagrator. The Switch rom hacking scene would be dead if not for you.

I never have been the Visual Novel kind of guy, but I do like a good story and this here sounds very promising.
First off, much respect and thanks for your dedicated work, just wow.
Second to that, I must admit while I searched for a dump to acquire I stumbled upon the anime adaption and now I wondered, since the anime even got translated to German (which isn't very common): what would be like "the benefit" of playing this title compared to the anime?

Every anime except Gou and Sotsu are very weak "adaptations". They are good anime as they are, but not as adaptations. You will lose ton of informations that can lead you to solve mystery yourself and anime must provides your an answer that you won't find yourself beforehand.
Gou and Sotsu are separate stories and not adaptations of any VN chapters. They are sequels.

Ive gotten the good and bad endings in the 7th room cases but it just wont progress at all, kageboushi just isn't triggering the ending clear for it either, or if anyone has a save that has the hou stuff ready to read i would be grateful. (by hou stuff i mean Bus Stop, Outbreak and Kamikashimashi)

To progress second book you need to get normal ends in Himatsubushi and Meakashi, in Hirukowashi choose "I want to skip it", and finish Kageboushi, then Epilogue should be available.
If you have done all that, send me save and screenshots of scenario chart of second book (screenshots because it won't fit on one screen)

Mangagamer has only 8 chapters and less than 100 tips covered without 07th mod. Switch version has 24 chapters + 100 Fragments + 188 tips, voice acting, lip-sync, professional quality sprites and backgrounds, different style of reading story.

Checked your reddit message and now I get it. Iirc had the same issue and it turned out I needed to read some Common Route messages to unlock Kageboushi end. So you didn't max Common Route from first book. Btw. did you get Meakashi bad end too? Because on screen it's not showed.
