Yes, they are separate things. Hekate is a bootloader which is used to start a (custom) firmware. Athmosphere is the CFW.

Generally speaking video guides are often dangerous, because they cannot be updatet in case of changes. This one seems to be relatively up to date, so it should be alright

Why migrate? everything currently released can be patched down with NSC_Builder and run on SXOS........

You can use NSC_Builder to patch games to work on lower FW - You have to do this to all games/patches that require higher than what tx can play.

It's easier to go to Atmosphere and not worry about this. The choice is there.

It can be made user friendly with the help of AIO Switch Updater and for example Deepsea.

Not all games can be downgraded with NSC_Builder however.
