Homebrew Homebrew app NDS Forwarder 38 Game Limit

So recently I discovered you can forward DS games to the 3DS home menu, and being as I am I did that with all of them, partially because I like to, and also so I can track my playtime in the Activity Log. That's all well and good, but eventually I realized that the oldest games began getting deleted. What the hell? Well the hell, it seems to be there's a 38 game limit oddly enough. I can probably survive with just 38 games loaded at once, but I'm more curious if anything as to: why? Is that coded by the developer, "RandalHoffman", is it something set by Nintendo, what's up with it?

its just coded by nintendo whom where idiots when they decided on it. yes, there is a 40 disware limit and a 300 3ds title limit to the consoles.

Ah, good to know. I guess I miscounted somewhere with 38 then. Thanks.

it's not technically a limit per se. there's not enough space in the twl nand, where dsi, forwarders, and twilight menu++ are installed. it runs out of space basically. @Robz8 told me there's a way to increase it, but it's very complicated and not noob safe.

I see. Perhaps if one day it is noob friendly I'd give it a try, but for now it's far from urgent, not that it ever will be, I suppose. What would it involve? Taking space from other parts of NAND or assigning parts of the SD card as TWL NAND?

I don't know what's involved. he didn't explain it to me, but I'd imagine, yes. I just use twilight menu++ myself. I was using forwarders, in fact, I still have backup copies of them:

I take it you used that one. I only found that one after and at the time I just kinda glanced past it, but looking again it seems pretty simple. I'll probably do this for a few games then, I suppose.

So do the NDS forwarders only count to the 40 DSiWare limit, or do they count to both the DSiWare and the 3DS software limit? Because if I'm understanding correctly, I could have 340 titles on my modded system. 300 3DS titles and 40 DSiWare titles? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

Could be wrong, but I think they're counted towards that limit.
