Hacking upgrade to 1tb sd card

Im a noob at switch. I bought a switch with atmosphere and rcm loader from xkit. system version 10.2.0|AMS 0.15.0|S. It came with a 256gb sdcard but I want to upgrade to a 1tb size. Can I just copy paste all the files, or clone the sd card, or do I need to do anything else?

Also, whats the safest way to update firmware for me?

You can just copy and paste everything over, just make sure the new sd card is the same format(fat32, or exfat)

Safest way to update firmware is to download it from Darthsternie's website and then use Daybreak to install it.
Update Atmosphere, Hekate (if you use it) and sigpatches to the latest versions first.

Yes, you can just simply copy and paste the files without issues assuming you're not using partition-based emuMMC. Safest way to update your firmware is with ChoiDujourNX or Daybreak.
