I opened my nintendo switch today to clean it and change the thermal paste. But when I wanted to take out the fan to clean it, when I lifted the gray clip that holds the flex cable, it came off. I tried to put it back but it was no longer fixed.

I do not know if there is a fix for this, I have only found that they say that you have to change the entire input, which seems ridiculous to me because the fan works well when pressing on the cable, it is just that little piece of gray plastic.

At the moment I fixed the cable with hot glue, but I am afraid it will come loose at some point.

Those plastic clips can be hard to get.
Pulling them of a junk motherboard is the easiest way.
Maybe some local repair shop has some junk boards left.
Removing the connector and soldering the fan cable directly with some small wires to the board is also an option.
But the hot glue solution should also work fine.
Some of the Chinese electronic devices are full of it.

Thanks for the help :)
I just hope the heat doesn't melt the glue. Although with the change of thermal paste, hopefully it reaches 53 degrees in dock.

I am planning to buy the part on aliexpress and after a while go to a local to repair it. The funny thing is that I do not see that the piece has broken, it is as if it does not want to get caught.

If you can find those heat sink pad such as the one near the sd card reader or bq chip. You can just place on top of the fan connector or stick it to the underside of the heat pipe ( since it loose ) and when you put the heat pipe down it will cushion it down. I would suggest stick onto the heat pipe.

It's going to be a bit nasty to replace since it's beside 2 other fpc connector. Buy a few extra on ali if you can.
