Hardware A banned ps5 :(

Hello guys
I bought a second hand ps5 which is turned to be banned
I cant afford buying another one
From Egypt I am and its sold for +1500$
I cant get in touch with the seller phone number always closed
Is there any way that I can unban it please help

doubtful. can't even unban a ps4. I read that you could get the full idps back on 1.76, but not any higher. I don't think there's ever been a way to spoof or change it though.

No there's no way to unban a PS5, I don't think there's been a way to unban any console ever even with a hack which PS5 doesn't even have a hack. This is one of many reasons not to get impatient and overpay for a used PS5. I have the money saved for a new PS5 at the regular $500 + tax but I will not pay a penny more no matter how long I have to wait.

probably won't make a difference. according to sony's website, bans are permanent, and I think it mentions this situation.

Only slight possibility of getting unbanned would be this, if you can prove you bought the PS5 and it wasn't originally yours.

It is weird to get a ban on PS5 since PS5 isn't hacked as PS4 did.

Did seller used disclaimer to claim that PS5 is banned? If not, you need to contact seller and if not resolved, dispute the charge to get money back.

When I first got CFW on my PS3 I didn't think and left the same account on PS3 and PS4, so they banned the account even on PS4 which was my main PS4 account despite not having any CFW on my PS4. Couldn't redownload my legit bought digital games or access PSN through that account on my PS4. But I could with other accounts.

when I bought my new ps3 after my original ps3 was banned, I did ask if it was banned, which the seller said it wasn't. I had issues connecting when I got it. it was on dex, and it had the online environment as sp int, so I changed it back to np (got error signing in otherwise) then converted back to cex. it worked after that. I had lots of problems with that system when I got it.

same thing happened to me when I got banned on the ps3. they banned the account too, which affected my psv/pstv and ps4. it took me several years 'til the ps4 scene matured enough to allow transfer of saves to other accounts. I lose no saves on any system, but I lost all trophies.

Well if the unit get report stolen then Sony would ban it, that what happen during launch if a unit get report stolen by a shipping carrier, one of my friends told me that.

well, one thing it says on sony's website is the customer service has no info on even why a ban was instituted, so they won't be able to help you.

How did you pay for it? If you used something like Paypal you could also check if you have buyers protection and they could reimburse you.

Ugh, I heard about same situation with Xbox too.

Sony and M$ are truly evil but as for Nintendo, they don't ban on account and it can be reused with new console with no issues.

Someone acting a fool online, using dodgy credit cards (or chargebacks) and so forth do cause bans. I might even wager on that being more common than bans for hacks.

Plenty of consoles get unbanned, especially with hacks.

Most companies these days do more than ban accounts but that usually amounts to "there is some unique number within the system, ban that". If the companies are good it will be a truly unique number that is burned into the heart of the system, read by hardware and noted on big list of numbers kept in the factory.
As good security and Nintendo (not that Sony or MS do that much better at times) then non unique numbers, not listed somewhere (basically make a new random number up, maybe even grab one from your online game*), accessed by software which the hacks would have total control over (and not even something tricky like 500 versions we update every other day) and so forth was the order of the day. Sometimes it would have involved having a friend that did not care about online give their numbers over, grabbing them from display models, or buying a dead board to grab the numbers from (see people buying stacks of RRoD boards for the 360 to try to bring back to life for long enough to grab keys when JTAG and RGH online lobbies for call of duty was a thing), or maybe stealing some (various things proposed to harvest headers for 3ds and Switch games).

*see Mario Kart ban cheats for the Wii. The Wii using mac addresses that were stored in software and transmitted with normal gameplay. If random changes were not working could have harvested it from those. Instead people made cheats they knew would be detected by anti hack things but either set their own mac (again kept in memory and read by software, and essentially a range of valid options rather than a list held back on the server somewhere) to that of their opponent or sent them hacked things to trip detections.

People here in Brazil sued Sony and they were forced to unban the consoles. The jury said that Sony has to unban the PS5 because such an expensive console rendered almost useless is against consumer's rights (And I believe if people do the same to Nintendo, they would have to unban their Switch too).

they likely would only ever unban if you reported stolen, then reported it not stolen if you say found it, in any other situation they wont do it.
