Hey all. I recently started looking into loading cfw onto my switch. Bought everything to do it, followed the cfw guide and when i go to launch atmosphere from hekate, im getting "unknown pkg1 version. HOS version not supported!" My switch is the first model and so its not patched. Any and all help is appreciated.

I'm assuming you have updated your switch to 11.0? if so, are you using atmosphere 0.15? latest hekate version is 5.5.0 so i hope you're using it, latest atmosphere version recently came out as a pre release 0.16. make sure you are up to date and try again.

I did update to 11.0. My apologies for not including that. I am using the latest version of hekate, and the pre release of atmosphere. That’s why I’m confused.

Did you create an emuMMC? i also can imagine that some configs are messed up so it wont boot correctly. and did you download all cfw files from the original github page? i hope deepsea fixes all problems because the configs should be already done correctly

Well i got further using deepsea then just atmosphere itself. Created the emuMMC, changed it to SD RAW 1. I was able to launch the cfw (emuMMC) got as far as the atmosphere logo, then a black screen that just loops back into rcm. when trying to launch cfw through sysnand i can get it to boot up correctly but cant access the homebrew menu (holding r while opening a game/app). any ideas?

i dont know if its different for anyone else but i just need to open the album app without pressing anything, maybe try that? (edit: completely forgot holding r and open an app is mostly default to not boot in applet mode, my bad!) and i can imagine that your emummc is corrupted, but not really sure, maybe the emummc is not correctly set up? when you are in sysnand (i recommend to not mess too much with cfw there because of ban risk) in options under console you can see something like "AMS 0.16" or something like that which means that your sd card files should at least boot atmosphere correctly.

Use MiniTool Partition Wizard to format micro sd card for emunand partition based. Then use hekate and choose emunand partition based and create. Make sure atmosphere, Hekate or Deep sea are 11.x and setup right ton micro sd.

All this have me thinking. Does sigpatches for a version of atmos/hekate work with prior versions of atmos/hekate? I never tried and I'm sure I'll never will, but still, is a doubt that just came up to my mind.

sigpatches are firmware based afaik, so if you have 11.0 sigpatches installed it would work with any other prior firmware

Still not getting it to boot up correctly. I reformatted my sd. re did everything. created a new emmuMMC. still not booting upcorrectly. when attempting to boot from sysnand i get "panic occured while running atmosphere. Title ID: 010041544D530000" etc. when booting from emmunand it just shows the atmosphere logo and stays on a black screen. not sure what the issue is. followed the written guide along with a step by step video tutorial and still nothing. I should also note that i cant boot the stock system firmware anymore unless booted from hekate. when trying to power on organically it just boots directly into rcm (without the rcm jig). dont know if thats something thats causing an issue or if thats normal?

Personally I would:

Turn off autoRCM
Update to 11.01
Use hekate with new patches
Load hekate
Options
Autoboot
Atmosphere emummc
Save
Power off
Power on and enjoy

i turned off autoRCM, updated to 11.01, tried going back into rcm (with jig of course) and now when attempting to plug in to my pc it comes up as "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed). tried installing the driver through tegraRCM and still showing up as unknown usb device.

Hold power 15 seconds to ensure switch is 100% off
Slide Jig in
hold volume +
Connect to PC
Should hear chime

i did do that. it should be in rcm mode. tegra isnt showing rmc ok and its showing up as unrecognized usb device on my device manager instead of apx. even after installing driver through tegra. wont let me inject any payloads or anything
