no, this (supposedly) fixes the issue where the system would just power off on detection of an USB-HID controller.

Nintendont would crash on startup if you had HID devices plugged in USB. This has been fixed with pushing a few changes that were made by @GaryOderNichts on his own fork of the project.

Keep in mind this has not been extensively tested so feel free to report any new issues on the github page.

Hi! Thanks for the hard work on this. I am sadly still having an issue with Nintendont crashing/freezing my Wii U on startup with an HID device plugged in via USB. I have tried the latest version of the boot.dol mentioned in this thread, as well as GaryOdeNichts' version. In this case, I am using a legit Sony Dualshock 3/Sixaxis. I submitted an issue on the Github repo: https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/issues/864

Thank you!

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I'm not really active here at this time. Well, you see, the fixed was done because of the freeze we had with the official NGC controller adapter. I suggest maybe try to plug your controller after Nintendont has booted, maybe that will circumvent your issue.

I'll test if I can reproduce your issue on my system.

New Version !

Hi, no worries! I could use the HID controller fine if I waited to plug it in after the GC game loaded. I and two others went through a bit of troubleshooting in the GitHub issue I linked to, if you're curious, but don't fret over it. I ended up using a Wii Classic Controller and it was much easier to play with!

NINTENDONT v6.492
[...]

It's so nice to see the project still is being updated, albeit at a trickle, but it's really great nonetheless.
@AparoidX Sorry but I could not take the time to test the issue. Juggling between jobs because of Covid leaves me little energy when I get home.

Still it's nice to see Nintendont isn't dead :)

This is great, i skipped the previous update because i was using akimasa's build with my smash ultimate controller, glad to see it has been merged with the official build!

My previous GC forwarders are not working with the WiiU Gamepad with this new version. Anyone having the same issue?

I have gc injects done with USB Helper.. i prepared SD Card with help of USB Helper before i did that. All Injects worked fine with that.. Now ive upgraded to the lates version of Nintendont and Gamepad controls don't work anymore.

What can i do now? Shall i go back do the Nintendont version of USB Helper or is there any other solution to make it playable with the latest version with gamepad?

you probably arent using the latest version, the latest version has a new setting where you pick the wiiu gamepad slot but if you are using an autoboot injects, other controllers will have priority over wiiu gamepad so if you have hid controller connected to usb ports it will have priority over player one, same for any bt controllers if you ahve then on like wiiupro and such.

You are right.. Its the gc controller hub that causes the gamepad not working when autobooting with injects. Even when there is no gc controller plugged in.

becuase the hub takes player one and gamepad as player 2 so if you started a game like super smash bros melee you would see gamepad working as player 2.

is 6.498 still the latest? and, the updater is broken right, so Nintendont has to be updated manually?

yep, can still compile it:
