Hardware Trouble with brand new ext.HDD

Hello
Before I change of ext.hdd, I had a 6tb one and I had the very same problem with it
In short, every minutes or so, it lags for several seconds (between 10 and 30 seconds)
When I browse it or rename files, it randomly stop responding
The cursor becomes a blue circle showing that it's laoding

I'd like to know, what is the problem?
Is it a common bug with all ext.hdd?
Is it a problem with my USB 3.0 port?
Is it a CPU thing? (Because mine is VERY old)

Sounds like a problem with your computer mate, not your drive.

It was doing the same thing with my previous drive, so i was wondering if it was normal for an ext.hdd lol
So what could be the problem?
USB port?
CPU?

I'd suggest reinstalling the USB drivers first.
If that doesn't work, try another computer.

Good advice. Remove the computer in question from the equation. Do your external drives work in a different machine?

im in windows update and it's talking about Windows 10 Version 2004
