So here is a good question lets just say they make a clone chip will it have the same functionality as SXOS and considering that SXOS status is unkown for the near future who is going to be updating the firmware?

I would stay away from a cheap clone and just get original
That is, if you can even get you hands on one considering well...everything.

Is there a place to download what was dumped? Good to have it out there in many places.

A clone chip will probably be designed just to boot a standard payload file placed on the SD card such as Hekate rather than a proprietary CFW like SXOS.

Has or can anybody dump the SX Pro USB C dongle? And if so, can we flash a different payload to it? Like Fusee_primary to load Atmosphere by default?
As fas as I know, you don't need to dump sx pro dongle in order to reflash it with atmosphere. There is a python script which converts third-party payloads to custom boot.dat to work with sx pro dongle directly.

Isn't that already possible with a tool like this?

Okay, that script is dope as hell. Thank you guys for this! (It's just as good as what I was asking for!) :yayswitch:

Is that legal? Even if it is from TX, it is still copyrighted and without their permission you can't distribute it

The only thing that has been dumped is the flash, the FPGA hasn't been touched, which would get big attention if that was made public. In the flash dump there is no copyrighted code to the best of my understanding and as such I'm sure Scires would remove it if it was

So will Atmosphere work on SX Lite and SX Core modchips when Mariko is supported? I have an SX Lite modchip sitting at home which hasn't been installed yet. I don't want to buy another modchip when the hypothetical open source modchip is available.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
