Anyone manage to snag one?

It's been crazy watching the madness unfold today. I think it was Walmart US that started it last night and everyone followed, so people were walking up this morning and being greeted with "sold out" messages everywhere.

Way to go retailers! You botched this one up good.

I had a couple opportunities yesterday to add a pre-order to the cart through Best Buy, but from the comments there it sounds like that was no guarantee I'd actually be able to complete the process of checking out.

Really though this fuck-up is more on Sony's end, since they didn't say when pre-orders would become available during the presentation. Not that I heard, anyway.

No luck for me at any of the retailers. Had it in my cart at BB for the longest time, then it was suddenly out of stock and no longer in my cart. I did get the Sony invitation though. But I'm leaving town the day they have the pre-order and might not be in an area with any cell service when it starts. Might end up still not getting one.

Sony definitely gets some blame as they could have easily given a weeks notice instead of one day. I'm also reading a lot of "preordering does not guarantee a PS5 on launch day" which is totally ridiculous. A lot of retailers take full payment here, so they get your money and you have no idea if you will even get a console before Christmas.

The price of the games put me off from buying it. No way I'd spend £70 for a game.

Plus, I'd want PS5 to be black than white.

The main part of the console is black and Sony could release replacement top and bottom covers in different colours.

No guarantee though.

They could also release an external GPU for it in the future or an add-on that functions as a microwave oven. Or maybe PSVR3, since they skip PSVR2 altogether and move on to the nextest of generations of VR.

No guarantee though.

Tbh, I'd want a product to release the way I want it, and not speculate about what it could be.

you're right. I saw out of the corner of my eye, part of a video on temp where sony apologized for the preorder confusion.

right again. I read a rumor that those white parts are going to be changeable.

The difference is that $70 is without tax, €70 with tax, but damn, I just wouldn't pay that much for a standard copy. It would have to be a CE/LE with cool extras.

Even now I low-ball sellers (not a fan of paying too much for games) to sell me games at prices lower than they want so I'll resell them later.

Edit: The era of PAL games was awful, I mean, kids didn't realize the slow down, but now those kids are adults and they'd probably not want to play that turtle'd version nowadays. lol
