Gaming DS blackscreen with indicator light on

Hi
I turned my DS lite to a gb macro (removing the top screen for a gameboy-advance-only experience) and now it's not working anymore.

Symptoms:
- No Sound
- No Video
- Green light turns on and off as expected

What happend:
Everything worked just fine. I managed to remove the ds card reader and solder on the resistor and everything was working fine. But when I soldered a speaker to the testpads (SPR0 and VGND) on the mainboard it first turned on with video and sound working fine for about five seconds, but then it went black and audio has stoped. The green light stayed on till I turned off the DS. Since then the screen and Audio did not output anything at all. Only the green light is working just fine.

What i've tried:
- I unsoldered the speaker again
- I checked the fuses (both ok)
- I bridged the fuses (just in case)
- I applied pressure on the cpu (some dude was recommending it in another thread)

Nothing that i've tried did cause any different behavior so far.
Is there something else I could try? Anything that could cause the problem.

P.S. the wifi/bios is connected.

Mine has the same problem. LED stays on without screens as well. Wifi/bios works for sure, tested on an other system. Any idea?

You could try what i've tried. Check the Fuses, especialy the one next to the batterie, and put some pressure on the cpu while turning the ds on. Both has helped other people in the past but for me it didn't work out.

Checked the fuse but it can be a fuse problem. It should not turn on at all without a fuse.
Pushing the CPU makes no difference.
I'm wondering can it be a bad connection on the wifi chip to the motherboard? The connector seems OK, but don't know how to test it for sure.

Yes, this issue is usually caused by a bad connection or no connection to the wireless card but it could be something else.
I had a DS lite that would randomly lock up while in the menus or running a game and sometimes not turn on at all in the same way (green light turns on but that's all that happens and the green light doesn't get brighter like it would when the system normally boots). I'm pretty sure that the problem was with the RAM or the CPU on the motherboard and that it's wireless card worked in other systems. When locking up it didn't always just freeze, sometimes the screens would go black or weird graphical glitches would appear on them. I also remember that lightly hitting some spots on the DS could cause it to lock up instantly.
If you experience similar issues to what I just said above about my DS then it's better to just replace the motherboard as it's probably a cracked solder joint or broken trace or some other issue like that, and it's probably very hard to properly find and repair even if you are professional at electronics repair.

Sorry but I don't know any other things to try, I don't know if you can save that motherboard
