Hi!

I felt I wanted to ask the community what they remember as their earliest gaming memory.
For many it might been the Playstation 1 or even the NES. For some it was some PC game. For others maybe even an Amiga.

My earliest memory that I can recall is from Commander Keen. I remember all the vivid colors and especially the pogostick.
For my then 4 year old brain it was amazing. And I still remember probably the first time I were proud of my mother.

She told us one morning (me and my brother) that she finished Commander Keen 1. And I were awestruck! Like my mom was the best!

What are some of your earliest memories?

I think the first game I can remember is either Galaga or Mario. Galaga in the arcade and Mario on the NES. Never stopped gaming after that :)

I have several early gaming memories. Not sure which was the earliest.

Donky Kong arcade, climbing those ladders and jumping barrels.

Doom on my dad's Dos PC.

Monster Bash, on the same Dos PC (Possibly my favorite game as a child. We bought the whole series

My first personal console was the SNES, with SMW, but that was obviously last.

Also remember playing the original Lemmings, Indiana Jones, and an F1 racing game all at my grandpa's house.

Bonus story, my first curse word was playing Donky Kong Country 2. Don't remember what level but I kept dying trying to reach a secret area on the left. Got a soapy mouth and scolded for screaming "DAMN IT!!!" lol.

Haha, yeah. Especially trying to reach some areas when you don't have Dixie and needed to use Diddy. The horror!
Also the ghosts chasing you in a mine cart is hell on earth I think. So hard!

My first was when I was kid: Atari 2600 with Pac-Man cart included then NES that came with Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt in one cart included. Those was a gift from my parents in different years when I was kid. Good memories!

This is my first memory of videogame :

Got it around 1986 i think. I was about 7.
I had to choose the best window of the house to get the best light for the LCD screen.
Good ol' time...

Why are those games so addicting if they're made right? I remember playing some game where you where two fire fighters running around bouncing people on a M&M shaped LCD game.

Earliest gaming memory I have is playing Super Mario All Stars on SNES and being so bad that I never got to get past World 1 in any of the games.

On a much more humorous note, my first contact with RPGs happened a little while after, I remember being at my uncle’s house and browsing his collection of PS1 games and stumbling upon one that had a bigger case, which ended up being Final Fantasy VIII. I tried to play the first disc but my tiny 5 or 6 year old brain couldn’t make heads or tails of where to go on the pre-rendered backgrounds so I tried to put in any of the other discs to see if they were different m but all they did was ask for disc 1 when I loaded my uncle’s save, so eventually I gave up. I never made it outside of the school or into an actual battle

funny you should mention final fantasy viii. I can't seem to get into the game on the switch. I'm at the final stage in final fantasy vii and final boss in ix, but viii just seems frustrating. I remember certain cards from what is it triple triad being missable. I'm not using faqs for my games, so I don't want to play something where I'll miss a lot.
