Hi all,

Simple question: Is there any way autoRCM can turn on by itself if nobody do any attempt of hacking it? I mean this scenario: kid using Nintendo Switch, AutoRCM turns on by itself one day. Kid can no longer boot his console.

Thank you for any answers.

Kind regards,
Gunnar Alvheim

AutoRCM is just having no valid BCTs (hekate's implementation corrupts the first byte of the modulus on all of them).

So in theory, yes, it can randomly happen without any hacking/modifications, but it's very unlikely (Nintendo uses 4 of the BCT slots, two copies of their normal one, and two copies of the SafeMode one. All 4 would have to get corrupt.)

Thank you for a thorough answer. Seems like it would only be theoretical chance of this. Would the unit work normally, if taken out of AutoRCM after such an unlikely event?

Even more unlikely :P
The one bit normal autoRCM touches would have to be the only corrupted part of one of the BCTs
