Sadly, the Hombrew Browser/Open Shop Channel or installing wads are the only Wii Shop Channel replacements at the time of writing this.

If you're referring to a Wii Shop Channel revival that would allow you to download WiiWare and Wii Channels, then I'm afraid that's not going to happen since it's illegal to distribute that stuff. The Homebrew Browser was really a different thing for the most part, it served as a way to download homebrew apps, games and utilities straight to your SD Card without having to use a PC. But because the Homebrew Browser is old and outdated, the Open Shop Channel is essentially a version of the Homebrew Browser that connects to a different server with more up to date content.
