I don't get it, you can't download roms anymore but you can still download themes and save files?
Ignoring the hidden ROM section then saves are data made by the users, and barring stuff like those ones that download DLC to the save (one of the DS music games being a good example) they are just that and it is not bothering anybody to have them shared around.
Themes are generally custom work as well so presumably whatever copyright is assigned by the maker of it or used images if people dump screenshots/promo art of their favourite cartoon. Equally not likely to bother things for Nintendo or the like.

ROMs however are ROMs and represent most of the things in the usual checklist for copyright cases if shared around so they are left to the hidden ROM section.

Don't fall for it as its a scam by the site staff. One of them will send you a PM saying to access the secret part of the site you need to send them a nude picture of yourself. If you do they use the picture to blackmail you. I fell for the scam and had to pay @FAST6191 a shit load of money. :rofl2:

I agree, I was scammed by him and when he was supposedly to send me the link to that hidden section, he send me a link to Archive Wayback Machine to the GBA roms from 2002... also the links were already dead so I couldn't download any hidden ROM.
:rofl2:

Well this site have done it very well without warez, most of the ones I know of, aren't even the shadow of the former ones when warez were allowed on them.
Can't really say if, when I got to GBATemp, the warez were gone or not, can't remember. But since I decided to return and be a more active member, I haven't regretted it.

In the Harmen Darme Site is a transcribable intersection of cost into cost speciality of decompression. But fortunate decompiler its not a decaying intersection.

GBAtemp stopped hosting warez when the term "warez" fell out of popular use. Probably the exact same time.
Actually, the term warez is still relevant between PC pirates, and groups like SKIDROW, CPY and Reloaded.
Yeah, in consoles the term is dying and nobody cares about the warez groups like VENOM and ABSTRAKT... and I think those already died some years ago, I actually don't know.

I don't know that I have seen leak be adopted over a more suitable term a la jailbreak thus far.

A leak to me still means some dev, security firm, press type given a copy, third party vetting deal, web admin, trusted party... fumbled the handling of sensitive data and allowed it to be accessed by those that they would rather not.

If someone rocks up to a shop, buys a game disc, takes it home, rips the disc and then shares it with the world that is not a leak. Someone snaffling a copy from a pressing plant might qualify as a leak but barely.

Now if we want to talk odd terms being adopted then datamining... most things I see described as such are anything but what I would see anybody going to school for datamining or being employed in industry as dataminers be doing. I would not be surprised at all to find a bunch of dataminers out there to be capable of doing something in this realm (many will have at least token programming skills and maybe would have had to sort binary data from a random database format or sensor and it is not a huge leap to most ROM hacking from there) but at the same time I would never expect to find it on any course or 99% of job postings/requirements -- I would usually see a dataminer as a statistician that knows how to work a database or three and maybe some light machine learning these days. Wonderful skill to have ( https://towardsdatascience.com/predicting-hit-video-games-with-ml-1341bd9b86b0 and the site in general showcasing good stuff from that field) but usually anything but someone that wanders through a binary format looking for strings, twiddling memory values to unlock hidden items or the like.
