Yeah I had the same problem recently with that Concept Destruction game. The Engine values are right there next to everything else, but for some reason there is another address that writes to those addresses that corrects them when they are wrong. My best guess is because parts like the engine are critical like the battery.
There is a good chance something is accessing that address, and correcting it. If the game is on PC I would recommend using cheat engine to see what is writing to that address and keep an eye on that value so you have a basic idea of what you should look for.
Dont be afraid to look for the same values in float or even double too, just to make sure you are getting the real address. There might even be more than one address you will need to freeze.
I dont know much about the game to be honest, but I do know the series well enough to know its been around for awhile, it might help to look at older titles and see how it was done too. Unless its a complete reboot, or a brand new engine devs usually dont stray too far from their old infrastructure, so its a good place to start looking if you are completely stumped.
