Hacking Question Is installing to USB HDD a thing yet?

Like the title suggests, is installing stuff to a USB HDD a thing yet? I'm not planning to pirate, I just have a 512GB microSD setup with Android, Linux, Lakka and EmuNAND and I'm running out of space. If I can avoid having to buy a 1tb microSD I would love to know.

No. The closest thing is loading xci's from an HDD with SXOS.

No, but you can install nsps from a USB drive/HDD. In order to do that, you need to compile Xortroll's fsp-usb atmosphere fork. Take into consideration that there could be some bugs, but it has worked perfectly for me.

At the moment, with with as much stuff transferred to NAND as possible, with eShop, DLC's and updates, my Nintendo folder is still over 70GB, so to have two of those for my offline EmuNAND setup, I'd like to have a way to make space without paying 400 CAD for a 1TB microSD.

No, there is no homebrew that does anything with installed games. Once they're installed you can't reacquire them the only thing you can do is delete them on the Switch.

But it's not like its hard to find any Switch game on the internet.

Your best bet is buy SX OS then you can play XCIs off external hard drive.

You can dump installed NSPs

Tinfoil can do it

Get SXOS.if you want HDD loading. Works great.

No, there is no homebrew that does anything with installed games. Once they're installed you can't reacquire them the only thing you can do is delete them on the Switch.

But it's not like its hard to find any Switch game on the internet.

Yes. If I you give me a minute I'll post some info. There are several methods.

So basically what you will do is dump the NSP from the installed title then convert the NSP on the PC. Tthere are many old apps. The one I like best is NSC Builder

It will build an XCI out of NSP with UPDATES and DLC included so none of it needs to be installed to the SD. You must supply all files of course. I have used this and can say it works. Cool having all DLC + UPDATES + Base game all in one XCI

This was about a month ago

I have SX OS updated to whatever the lastest is
I was using the HGB Shop fork of Tinfoil

I forget what the error exactly was, however, whenever I tried to dump games it would never work. I even sent Balwarr (Spelling?) a message on GBAtemp and he said he would look into it.

I have not heard anything back and I've switched full time to NX Dump tool for all my dumping needs
