Hacking ACNL - can host, but cannot visit other islands?

Wondering if anyone else has this problem. I'm using Atmosphère on 9.2.0 with the 1.1.0 update.

I can host my island and receive visitors just fine (no CFW on the visiting console) but when I try to visit another island, the game can never find one. (again, no CFW on the hosting console)

Any ideas for what could be the problem here?

I do (90DNS) but the Switch does not connect to the internet during local wireless play. It's one or the other, so the DNS server shouldn't matter.

Check if you have lan play configured on switch. If yes disable all the ip+dns settings.

Thanks for the catch... probably autocorrected, I typed this on my phone. Same reason Atmosphère has the grave accent. I don't think I can edit the thread title unfortunately.

I had a similar issue with my brothers Switch. We could not visit either ones islands though. Turns out it was because my brother was using a LAN adapter and I was on WiFi, disconnecting the LAN adapter resolved the issue

Could be your personal network though.

experienced it myself till i double checked to see if i had lan play enabled. , sure as Sh** it was, soon as i disabled it, it was able to connect to my unmodded system in local play. (remember Lanplay hijacks local wireless pretty much and runs it over the internet, so while it's enabled you wont be able to properly use local-play in any game the way it's intended)
