Hacking Gamesd.skprx vs Storage Manager

is there any reason to use storage manager instead of gamesd.skprx/usbmc.skprx? is it only for people who want to use mass storage for roms and whatnot?

both seem to be the same Storage manager is more feature complete. though. YAMT is faster.

gamesd does one of two setups (depending on whether sd2vita is detected) with no further configuration, storagemgr has only one configuration but you decide it, and enso-ex properly integrates sd2vita with the OS (and it therefore my choice)

Storage manager is "heavy", if you don t need its features, gamesd is the fastest plugin that works with every adapter/sd.

No reasons to use storage manager to mount your sd2vita, only if you need to mount more partitions.

Yamt is even faster but it does not work with every adapter, it is a different patch, you can try.

From What I Gather Storage Manager is a All in One Plugin that takes from various contributes that worked on their own plugins so its highly flexible but is very slow on large SD cards. 258GB SD can take 20sec to boot up. GameSD is no faster if at all by a very small margin and is basically the same as Storage Manager. YAMT is its own thing. Its not as feature heavy but is cleaner and much faster. boot only takes 3/4ths of a second on a 512GB SD and other sizes. YAMT Lite is the version i suggest to use since it avoids bugs the Original had.. the Original has been updated but the dev wont release the plugin till its complete since ppl are likely to brick from ignorance.

Also it looks like YAMT OG works with usb stuff or anything really but dont take my word for it ive never used the OG one i opted for the Lite ver since its automatic and requires no config. so YAMT OG youll have to compile yourself and setup yourself and be VERY careful lest you softbrick your console.

I've thought about buying a v5 of sd2vita for use with my pstv, but I've heard that v5 randomly forces formats. I have v3 for the vita. it works very well, but it's bulging out of the top of the system, because the dust jacket won't close. it like slightly doesn't fit. someone told me about the problem, so I examined mine, and sure enough. it doesn't fit. the same person who told me that told me about v5 and its formatting problem.

ive heard of no such issue and v5 fits perfectly in the Game Card slot. only reason this would happen is due to User Error or the card isnt in correctly. when you buy a MicroSD thats larger then 64GBs you need to format it using the instructions https://vita.hacks.guide/storagemgr

you should have no problems with the v5. its been out for awhile and tested more. havent had issues with mine ive had it for a month now and never got an error unless the plugins used for it to work got messed with by the user

rasputin runs one of the scene (not content) sites, so he's pretty credible. it's possible that an early batch had some sort of problem. you're right though. if that was something that affected all v5, they'd probably have a v6.

yea. I have had a reformat message come up but thats only if you mess with somthing your not supposed to like deleting a file the system looks for on boot. or the SD card was faulty which that link i sent has you test the sd before using it if you feel you need to check it

most i can say is get a V5 and whatever your moving onto it, keep a backup so incase you do get an error you can revert to the previous device. have my friend ordering one for her Vita and shes having me set it up for her so i doubt theres much to worry about

Yamt lite is outdated, lastest official version is recommended, and as i said it is not like gamesd, it is a different patch.

Also, yamt adds NO delay.
StorageManager is the one with a big delay, everything else is faster.
