Honestly, had a developer of atmos come out with this exploit and done the same thing - Would you be suspicous then regardless of how many times the person tapped their screen?
No, I wouldn't be suspicious (or at least as suspicious as I am with this). Also they don't develop modchips and that point has already been made irrelevant.

I am a bit new to this scene; why do people not trust TX as much as other developers. Is it solely because they are closed-source?
Oh trust me, they've done a lot of things that don't make me trust them. Doing a paragraph on it is pointless because it'll probably get removed (along with the rest of this argument). But I'll bring up one argument.
Way before this, around June 2018. They announced that they were working on a ipatch switch exploit and there were MULTIPLE coldboot bootrom exploits. Surprise surprise. They didn't deliver.

Why not? Sounds like bias.

So you're saying that the evidence of the ipatch switch exploit they have been working on is fake, because they haven't shown any evidence of the ipatch switch exploit they were working on?

so what? it's good to be skeptical about things at times.

Being skeptical to this level of paranoia is not good for you.

There is a difference between saying that anything can happen before this comes to market, so only pre-order if you are willing to take the risk & trying to make out that you have some skill at working out that they are faking it.

Maybe because they don't lead people on for over a year that they have something that they actually don't.

Well yeah (mainly because they can't just pull a coldboot bootrom exploit out of nowhere).

Noticing a few UK based peeps arguing this morning, just wanted to mention it's a beautiful day outside with blue skies and temperature is decent. Why not go outside for a walk, bike ride or something real instead of bickering with strangers on the internet.

Just a thought.

So you definitely know what they have and what they don't, despite them showing evidence to the contrary, but you aren't an egotistical maniac?

It's a glitch attack, AFAIK they had this before fusee gelee came out.

Maybe there is another explanation for why they sat on it for so long, like waiting until enough units that required it had been sold to make it worthwhile? Then mariko came along and delayed it further.

It's possible right?

Besides of all haters: I love this. Absolut fantastic work. Will buy this on day one - and I do not even own a switch light (yet).
Oh yes of course I am a SX OS user and fanboy etc.

I mean, I am taking a walk later today with my family. Doesn't look like it'll be raining so it'll be fun.

I am almost certain that they don't have multiple coldboot exploits for an ipatched switch let alone a switch lite.

But... the switch lite has several measures in place to prevent these attacks. A developer I know has played around with this and it was not fun trying to glitch and play around with it. So if my suspicions are wrong and the modchip does indeed come out. It'll likely take hundreds of tries to get a successful execution.

Not to board the TX hate train... But.. If an Atmos dev came out with a similar video, we wouldn't see the sporadic tapping. :v

:D at the end of the day it's a mod of some sort to play games on a switch, life goes on, back to work on Wednesday :)

Where did they say they have multiple for an ipatched switch? I wonder if there is a miscommunication.

The answer is obvious: There is more than one coldboot bootrom exploit, and it is not just the warmboot one.
So don't fear: we will deliver a solution for these new "unhackable" switches in due time!

One is fusee gelee, which was patched. My reading of that is that they have another.

Your suspicion of that could be wrong too or each of the hundreds of tries take 1 millisecond and it automatically retries until it succeeds & so you won't care.

yet if TX was going to come out with a fake video surely they would have made a video without the sporadic tapping ?

I'm sure some people on here would have said this video by TX was fake to back in Jan of last year :O:)

"There is more than one coldboot bootrom exploit" it is literally right there. Am I missing something? Also, fusee gelee isn't a coldboot exploit.

Your suspicion of that could be wrong too or each of the hundreds of tries take 1 millisecond and it automatically retries until it succeeds & so you won't care.
That's why I said likely and also it'll take more than 1 millisecond per attempt. I'd guess 1-2 seconds per attempt.

Except, this was before everything up to now happened.

Is this for Switch Lite only? Or will it also work on the newest Switch version?

Nevertheless great work!

SciresM can be heard sporadically tapping buttons on the joy cons while waiting (around 0:38)

I don't know what that means.

Hardware hack, they have rewrited the bootrom, that's nice, now I'm waiting to see the solderless solution
They will be NO solderless solution, they say for a portable system its not a solution and they right every solderless solution use clips that come off easy.
