I know the typical response is nobody cares about Xbox One, but seriously.. is anyone working on it? Personally, I care most about the Xbox 360 and OG Xbox backwards compatibility more than native XBOne games. If we could inject our older 360/OG Xbox games into XBone, with enhancements like 4K, that would be awesome IMO! Anyway, I'm just curious if anyone is working on hacking XBOne.. it's starting to feel impossible.

I doubt anyone is working on it. If so, they're being extremely quiet about it. It sucks, because all I want is the ability to rip my disc games to a usb hdd

Imho no need for that - just get a mid range PC to play nearly all the xbox games (with better gfx). Either with game pass pc or just pirate (not worth imho since game pass is that cheap).

I already got a mid+ range PC and 3 yrs of Game Pass Ultimate, but no desire to install Win10. That's explicitly why I purchased an XBOne, to not install Win10 on my PCs. All that said, I'm mostly interested in the 360/OG Xbox stuff and how that can be leveraged, both on XBOne and across other x86 platforms. If there were any actual progress, I'd consider having a dedicated Win10 PC. But it seems like Microsoft defeated the hackers this round, and probably with their next console as well :(

More like a combination of both. Not one hacker has made the slightest bit of progress on hacking the XB1. Congrats to MSFT. But there also isn't much incentive to do it in any case. If the only real benefit is to those that refuse to setup Windows 10 (and I'm one of those people) than it won't ever happen.

Meanwhile you can run every 360 game on an easy to obtain 360 and you can run (an ever increasing number of) 360 game on Xenia at resolutions above the Xbox, and there are tens of thousands of games that can be run on their original platforms or under emulation. No need to obsess over what you don't have; focus on what you do have.

If it's possible to make an Xbox One X dual boot to Windows 10, I'd go out and buy one instead of the mini itx machine I'm planning to build.
I think I heard the problem is to do with requiring some hardware keys assigned to each console, so maybe some savvy users could build homebrew tools to extract them and install dual boot windows.

With Dev Mode being a thing, and the fact that we can already run our own code the motivation just isn't really there. The only thing it would enable would be piracy which most devs don't want to do anyways and I don't blame them.

Nothing is un hackable but we will need either of these things to happen. A group of people to spend A LOT of time looking at every aspect of the console or an ex m$ employee that knows where to look.

Hacking Xbox One is irrelevant if you ask me. The gamepass basially gives you 70% of the games that gets released.
