Hi @Random11,
Thank you so much for this excellent work!
I have 3cmx5cm mini NFC cards and I struggle to resize your jpg as it is not the same aspect ratio and I tried using your Photoshop template but there is only one character in the psd file. I know it is a lot to ask but would it be possible to have a 3x5 version of all the 23 Zelda amiibos for NFC mini cards ? Or at least the 23 characters layers so I can do it myself?
Thank you very much once again.
How to crop the cards to get the size you want:
1. Download my credit card sized images.
2. Open in photoshop and double click on the background layer so that it becomes unlocked "layer 0"
3. Use Image>Canvas Size and change it to 638px wide by 1010px tall, anchoring at the center. This should basically crop out the bleed section (if you have done this right the bleed section should still be there if you make the canvas bigger)
4. Use Image>Image Size to change the Document size to 354px wide by 561px tall (3cm by 4.75cm at 300 ppi)
5a. If you DO NOT WANT THE BLEED SECTION... use Image>Canvas Size and change it to 354px by 591px, anchoring in the center. (3cm by 5cm) Save it and you're done. OR
5b. If you WANT THE BLEED SECTION... use Image>Canvas Size and change it to 420px by 627px this will bring back the bleed. HOWEVER.... the crop lines for the two horizontal cuts will have to be adjusted, they should now be at 18px in from the top and bottom. Seen here in red:

So draw them in however you want. (I suggest doing it once on a clear layer that you can then copy and paste on top of each card as you make the alterations).
Or you might not need the crop lines, in which case just leave it like that.
Hi, I finnaly got around to making an account on here. I have been an avid follower of amiibo cards for sometime and loved the idea behind them. What better way to ensure my amiibo can stay boxed. No longer do I have to buy 2 of everything if i can just create amiibo cards instead right?
I joined this forum for one reason and one reason alone to let you know that I have been using your artwork for the past month to create amiibo cards and they have been great it's taken me some time due to the fact I had to import the tags for some strange reason took about 14 days to get here so that was a wait i could have done without and all the trial and error wasn't so much fun!
I have created amiibo cards using your artwork and random11's both of you have done excellent work here and obviously a lot of other people think so too!
Now i suppose i could have made my own amiibo cards with my own amiibo artwrok, but im useless as art seriously. Can't even use paint! These were great to print with just drag drop print. I do make my amiibo cards the good old fashoined way with paper and double sided tape.
For everyone who is having issues making there cards I can shine a light for you. I tried and tested at least 20 types of paper and 3 different printers. Ink was an issue too it has to be the good stuff. Here is what I did:
Printer -
Tired a bog standard printer - awful print quality so straight up binned that idea.
Tried a specialist laser printer at a shop - looked great but the price was so damn expensive!
Bought a photo printer cannon brand - sharp crisp images. If you want to print your own start with a photo printer!
Card/paper
This was the real issue. I tried every brand possible. Some of the expensive brands were just as bad as the cheap ones! All I can say is find a brand that's thick and doesn't feel sticky to the touch. I ordered mine from eBay it came in a pack of 100 can't recall the brand name but it worked!
INK
Don't buy the cheap stuff your prints will luck dull! seriously. You need to buy the official product for your printer there is a reason why it's expesnive. If i was you id buy some off ebay mine costs £45 for a box of 5 colours i can buy the same online for £25 that pretty much printer nearly all the cards I needed!
Now for making them. Just print. Fold stick with double tape place chips inside and get a good paper cutter I use a guillotine cutter. They turned out great.
So thanks for this! I posted this comment on the other guys post too to say thanks!
I look forward to seeing any other desings you may come up with in the future. Thanks again.
I am looking to make some euro style fire emblem amiibo cards. I saw the cartoon ones somewhere before but id prefer them to look like the euro cards that came as part of the limited edition set. Anyone got any ideas where I could get the art work from
What thickness would you think these cards would be? Playing card thickness or?
Hi, I am new to the whole amiibo card thing. I first found out about these on etsy of all places, thought wait a minute this isn't normal am i getting scammed here did some googling and stumbled across your post. Gotta say loving the idea behind it. Pretty smart stuff. I did some research behind how it works so i know i gotta get an nfc android device and scan them onto chips. Now am i ok to print your work and use this for personal use?

Hey folks,
This is my first time posting here, but I've seen this thread and currently working on creating my own amiibo cards using @Random11's wonderful work. I also wanted a Young Link amiibo to complete the Zelda set. I ended up making my own and using the template Random11 in the OP so that the formats and everything can match.
I did my best to match the actual box art of the original packaging.
I don't know if Random11 is still working on his own version, but just wanted to share my work if that's appropriate here.
[EDIT: messed up one of the fonts in the original image attached, fixed!]
Hi I can't seem to find the link download. Im not sure if there is a problem with seeing signatures or something but can you please link it again sorry to be a pain!

Hah yeah, I was the same. It took such a long time to get the right paper. I did notice an issue with the ink too. I refil my ink by hand and it was starting to show after a few prints. Had some lines in the artwork turns out it was a clogged head... fixed it for it to happen again... never again will I use crappy ink cartridges....

I have not seen these posted here but i did see some examples online just do a quick google search and try to edit the artwork?

The above comment explains this. You want something thick, playing style think. Normal paper won't do this. I don't recommend print on card either as the print quality is quite poor. Just try the higher end GSM 180+ kinda thickness. Trial and error.

Personal use is fine of course!

Trial and error my friend trial and error. I would not want to make cards so small though it's a bugger to print on!

@Jessicabellex thanks for telling me the app name. I did manage to find it online. Sadly the phone I currently own doesn't work to work with the app. It's not an old phone it supports nfc i guess it's just a rubbish phone. Ill look into getting something else and see how it turns out though. Kinda dissapointed really oh well...

Thankyou for your tips. At least I can make the cards first before scanning them! Just a matter of interest which phone or tablet are you using to make these? id hate to buy something that doesn't work!
