So, I have a grey Nintendo DS Lite that I've had forever, but has given up the ghost. I know I have a 2DS that I can use, but I sometimes like using the DS Lite for the nostalgia factor. Now, my problem is that it wont charge, no matter what. If I plug it in, the orange light shows up for a half a second, and go's away. While the power is still plugged in, I can turn it on, but will do the exact same thing. Turn on for half a second, and turn off. I have never installed anything like FlashMe or anything to modify the DS. Hell, I haven't even opened the damn thing because I don't have a tri wing. Could it be the battery? anything like that?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the crappy video but this should give you an idea of where to start -

It's likely that either your F1 or F2 fuse is blown. Visually inspect the DS game cart slot for damage (bent pins). If all looks good, I'd check those two fuses with a multi-meter to see if they've popped or not. If either has, your choice whether to try to replace them (pain in the ass) or just bridge them (less of a pain in the ass but you don't have a fuse anymore)

It sounds like a problem with the battery but I have a board with a similar problem and I think the fuses are broken on it because it does the same thing with all my good batteries
You should try using a different battery and if that doesn't work it's probably the fuses

I had something like this, I didn't replace the fuse but just gave it a thick blob effectively bridging the fuse...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

(after checking the resistance with a multimeter)

I just did the exact same thing! one of the fuses were dead, so I just bridged them and it works.

best answer !
i think the only reason why those fuse blown is because there's a overvoltage, COMMONLY this occured by faulty charger and a fake charger (a non original replace charger)

i have tried to bridge it (im not sure which fuse but my dad said, he bridges the fuse, so obviously, we wont have fuses anymore) (yes, on my DS Phat) aaand, like many technician think, it wont be longer, one by one part of my Phat broken, then fully unusable... after that day, i bought a used DS Phat, just for the "nostalgia" reason

alternatively, buy a cheap used DS Lite, and take the fuse, then apply on your DS Lite

sorry my english is tereible, but im sure you know what i mean
