What CFW should I run now that I have put my switch down for a few months and it has outdated SXOS and probably ofw 6. I would like to upgrade to 9.0 and play the new Zelda release. What setup is the most stable. Should I stick with sx or go to atmosphere?

Update:

Used ChoidujoirNX to update to 8.1.0 system nand and kept the latest beta of SXOS for now. Everything seems to be working just fine. I'll customize and setup my system a little more when I get time. Just wanted to be able to run Zelda on my breaks. Thanks for the input all ✌️

Use atmosphere with signature patches. It also has emunand support and can do nearly everything sxos can but for free. They have one singular feature of being able to load from an external drive
worse case use both

Atmosphere specifically the kosmos bundle. I used sxos as my main cfw since it released but after atmosphere added everything except xci loader I switched. The main benefits of atmosphere are
crash to atmosphere, better homebrew support, amiibo emulation, and much faster updates. That being said sxos has two advantages which are xci loading (I dont care about this feature because nsp is better in my opinion) and usb support (for nsp installs it makes more sense in my opinion to use a pc to switch install, it can be useful if you want to hoard a bunch of XCI games and only play in docked mode). So as you can see it depends on what features you want but I think overall atmosphere has better features.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
