No, you never need to be online when using CFW.
But you need a linked Nin tendo account. Without no chance.
To link it you have to go online once, no problem after starting OFW.
Just FYI, you can also get a linked account using Kefir https://gbatemp.net/threads/kefir-updater.539086/

Attention! This will delete all existing accounts and Switch savegames (actually switch savegames remain on the system, but arent visible anymore - to delete them you have to delete each individual games savegames entirely (as in for all accounts, in switch settings) - but make absolutely sure you have them backed up with checkpoint first) on the system. So you have to back them up using Checkpoint ( https://gbatemp.net/threads/release...imple-save-manager-for-3ds-and-switch.503899/ ) first.

Read the entire Kefir thread, the procedure is described in there.

Before restoring savegames rename the linked Kefir account to your old accounts name again. Then restore backuped savegames.

To be able to do that. You have to start the game you want to restore the savegame for, with the new (linked) account, at least once (then it will show up in Checkpoint).

@18Phoenix Try renaming that folder and see if it works. If it doesnt work ill delete my post.
Called the folder just SNES, didn't work. Big thanks anyway :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Now I got it, just added always the footer of Mario Kart and its .sfromsig file.
A lot games run wonderful like Axaley, Castlevania, Contra III, Donkey Kong Country.
Some don't run (ActRaiser II) or run with extreme sounds errors (ActRaiser).

Could be that different footer lead to different results.
Time will show.

Try this single-byte change for ActRaiser 2 rom and see if it works

I think for someone how can program it would be easy to make a small footer-adder.
Load sfc file, enter footer number, click, finished.

Sadly, still extreme buggy sounds. But with this fix it goes on.
try changing the preset in the footer. you said you used Mario Kart? Try changing the preset "BD10" to "0000". Does it boot still? Sound still buggy?

I changed S-2029_e to S-Alien3_e
2029_e.sfrom for Alien3_e.sfrom Worked

With names instead of numbers there is no risk that in future updates a game will have the same code as the roms I added.

Awesome, have you figured out .smc games yet?

Street Fighter Alpha 2 doesn't work, it's a MSU1 game but I've tried the patched Snes Classic version, still doesn't work.
The ripped Rom of Trials of Mana doesn't work either, same reason MSU1.

I wouldn't risk that.
For NES they also changed it and forced to name the files CLV-P-N***E.
I'll only use the Gamename for the folders that works fine and is enough to keep the overview.
Sure are 2025 and follwing the number that will come next.
I'll choose higher numbers, but I keep the 2 at the beginning for safety.

I did not understand, the Alien 3 translated into Portuguese worked, but the original US does not work.

I managed to fix it, I copied the translated game header to the Original rom and now it works.

Ah, ok, just the lines at the beginning that are not in the standard rom.
Ok, I understand, but strange. We'll find out more and more.
But it need too much time to optimize each game for get it working.
For example the German translation of Alien3 has no header.
OMG, how should we found out the correct way.

ATTENTION: FW 9.0.0 is out.

EDIT: NEW LINK to updated code for more browser compatibility.

select a rom and a footer. I removed all dupe footers
if you want to, you can override the preset id for further testing

Pressing Download - nothing happens (of course after choosing rom and footer ;) ) !?
Are you sure? The file should automatically download. Check your default download location for your browser. The downloaded file should be named 'test.sfrom'
