So...No stupid questions...Right?
I've done the entire guide at switch dot homebrew dot guide (sd setup w/ kosmos I believe)
Auto-RCM is enabled
Updated to firmware 8.0.1
I am on a OS X and am trying to use a usb loader to install .nsp files I am told work
They will load using tinfoil but it goes to check if my firmware is sufficient and gives and error.
What am I doing wrong?

2 questions

1. Sigpatches: is this required for high firmware games? I read about "keys" and patches that are needed. Not sure how: just drop it in the micro sd card?
2. What exactly is the meaning of "fuse"? I know about the term fuse gelee or something but the word "fuse" is mentioned many times it's a little

Basically: i have no idea how to proceed after getting cfw on fw 8.1.0 if i want to install nsp files and updates/dlc. I only know you need goldleaf

is there anyway to bypass the error code 2101-0001? i cant bypass it and it happened yesterday morning. I can boot into Lakka.

Use DZ Tinfoil and nut server to install NSP files over USB. If you are still having errors, I suggest doing the following (if you are actually on 8.0.1):
  1. Remove all CFW files/folders from your SD card (that would be folders like /sept/ and /atmosphere/)
  2. Download the latest Atmosphere from github (currently 0.9.2)
  3. Download the latest fusee-primary (next to Atmosphere)
  4. Download these signature patches
  5. Put Atmosphere and the signature patches onto your SD card
  6. Download the 8.1.0 system update files
  7. Put the 8.1.0 folder onto the root of your SD card
  8. Download ChoiDujourDX and put it into the /switch/ folder on your SD card
  9. Put the SD into your Switch
  10. Boot your Switch into RCM
  11. Launch Atmosphere using fusee-primary
  12. Update to 8.1.0 using ChoiDujourDX. If you don't want AutoRCM installed as a way to preserve fuses and/or conveniently load RCM, make sure you untick that option. If you do want AutoRCM installed, keep that option ticked. If your SD card is formatted as exFAT, make sure you install "8.1.0 (exFAT)" in ChoiDujourDX.

Signature patches are required to play any NSP-installed games. You put them in the appropriate folder on your SD card if you're using Atmosphere or Kosmos. See below for my recommended steps.

Fuses are, in a nutshell, things that get physically and permanently burnt when you boot your system after performing a system update. If you try to downgrade and the fuse count is higher than expected, the Switch will refuse to boot (without a custom bootloader like Hekate or fusee-primary). They are unrelated to the fusee-gelee (the RCM exploit).

For example, if I have 3 fuses burnt, then I can never downgrade to anything lower than version 3.0.0, since 3.0.0 expects 3 fuses to be burnt.

Use DZ Tinfoil and nut server to install NSP files over USB (or FTP, or use DZ Tinfoil alone to install from SD). I also suggest doing the following:
  1. Remove all CFW files/folders from your SD card (that would be folders like /sept/ and /atmosphere/)
  2. Download the latest Atmosphere from github (currently 0.9.2)
  3. Download the latest fusee-primary (next to Atmosphere)
  4. Download these signature patches
  5. Put Atmosphere and the signature patches onto your SD card
  6. Put the SD into your Switch
  7. Boot your Switch into RCM
  8. Launch Atmosphere using fusee-primary
  9. Install NSP files using DZ Tinfoil.

i was playing my game earlier and plugged in my switch using my official charger and then it turned off
When do you receive the error? Can you boot the system?

I recommend doing the following to troubleshot:
  1. Make a NAND backup using Hekate, including BOOT0/1
  2. Restore an old NAND backup, including BOOT0/1
  3. Check if the system boots.

Did you follow my steps?

Also, it isn't possible to use Atmosphere without the SD card. Do you have AutoRCM installed? If not, what happens when you boot normally without Atmosphere?

yes im sorry i meant booting without the sdcard in my switch. And no, Autorcm has never been enabled.

I just installed Atmosphere on EmuNand and I'm trying to play CTR(bought Eshop copy pre CFW install) online with the OFW. I don't have a back up, and when I last loaded into sysNand I can still see all of the NSP backups I installed(on my SD) even without the memory card inserted.

Is it safe for me to connect to Nintendo servers on stock OFW without getting banned?

Did you manually partition the SD card and setup emuNAND properly?
