Seconded, I'm curious as well
What is new for the Wii U version?

I think he meant in terms of RetroArch5.5.3 still same as 5.5.2 its Europe update i guess been long ago
mine version is 1.7.6. hasnt updated yet all u need to make new folder for chds. name the folder same as kinst and put kinst.zip and kinst folder in romsI think he meant in terms of RetroArch
Yeah, RetroArch xDDD it's been AGES since I heard of something new coming to the Wii U version... I still want PS1 support :vI think he meant in terms of RetroArch
I heard that too saw someone did point blank 1,2,3 ps on Wii and anyone get Rayman running?Yeah, RetroArch xDDD it's been AGES since I heard of something new coming to the Wii U version... I still want PS1 support :v
Last I knew was that simias couldn't continue with the PSX Dynarec, so the project was up for grabs for anyone who was willing to continue with it.Yeah, RetroArch xDDD it's been AGES since I heard of something new coming to the Wii U version... I still want PS1 support :v
yeah thats funny they left the machines for newer to work on then later they came back to old machine work on with new idea when they are bored with new machine back n forthLast I knew was that simias couldn't continue with the PSX Dynarec, so the project was up for grabs for anyone who was willing to continue with it.
Out of that, I haven't seen anything else in terms of RA WiiU.
Seems like most people moved on to Switch already.
A shame though, since the WiiU really is a nice emulation machine for all things Nintendo, the Switch still lacks anything from the Dreamcast and upwards (Gamecube, Wii)

I think the sole reason the Vita is receiving attention is because it's portable.Yeah, that's one reason I've been very cynical towards Switch homebrew. Simias was working on dynarec, but he had to pass the baton on to someone else (or rather, left it open to anyone who wants to pick it up), as he had to take care of some IRL stuff, which is understandable. That said, the Wii U has a lot of potential, and is clearly capable of even full speed DS emulation, as see with DS VC ROM injections, but of course, it was abandoned on the side of the road, left for dead. Man, I think the whole abandon-Wii U dynarec-and-move-on-to-Switch is bullshit.
Devs want to work on the flop that is the Vita but not Wii U?
Like, I understand where Simias is coming from, but the fact no one has the ambition or motivation to want to give Wii U proper dynarec is just plain bullshit.
I think the sole reason the Vita is receiving attention is because it's portable.
That and only that, they want to see it surpass the PSP in terms of homebrew.
But still though, the user base for that is around the same as the WiiU, yet one is receiving attention and the other isn't.
I think it all boils down to the user base.
Sony and Nintendo have two different homebrew hacking scenes, and one usually doesn't carry to the other, they are usually exclusive to each other, so that might be why.
I do agree.I still think it's bullshit, Wii U should've gotten dynarec, then have the devs move on to Switch. I'll forever be cynical towards Switch homebrew for that reason.
I do agree.
Whatever the reason, it's sad to see the WiiU just being pushed aside by the Switch.
It has so much potential to see it all go to waste.
Still though, not all hope is lost, someone might eventually jump into it.
More so given how big the bounty for it is right now.
Time will tell, my friendThe bounty is quite tempting, as it's nearly $1000 I think, we'll see I guess.
I think we've talked a little bit about this before, but once the PC platforms have a dynarec happening I'm planning on taking on the PowerPC one. With any luck it won't be too much of a pain to graft PowerPC in.
I might mention that to the RetroArch people again, maybe someone will want to form a team (though I really don't know about dynarecs, so it's unlikely)
It's the waiting game. There are some things that can be done now, see the posts about DOSBox from before, I'll get onto those when I get the chance.
In terms of what's changed recently for the Wii U, check out RGUI! It's awesome. It scales correctly and respects your bilinear filter toggle (which I assume most people have turned off) - 16:9 mode in particular looks glorious, as well as the blue theme. I might start using it over XMB, since I regularly delete the assets along with my retroarch folder, and for whatever reason downloading is slow as heck.
I haven't seen it crash, but I'm also not a very heavy tester. I've kinda done things like disabling iosuhax in my own builds because it doesn't work right for me, but for everyone else it's fine so, I might not be super accurateIf I may ask, how stable is RetroArch (whether it's the nightly build or vanilla). I admit I haven't used it in some time, but now, I kinda want to dust off the Wii U I have hooked up

It doesn’t work. I’ve already tried with both Mame 2003 and 2003 plus, it crashes the Wii U with an end of memory black screen crash.need to have 2 files .zip and .chd to work together
you need to find specific Mame 2003 (0.78) and its slow !It doesn’t work. I’ve already tried with both Mame 2003 and 2003 plus, it crashes the Wii U with an end of memory black screen crash.
I haven’t seen any videos of the two Killer Instinct arcade games running on Wii U yet but I did find this android one. That’s why I was curious to ask if someone had gotten them to work.
