can anyone tell me why i only have a black screen when launching l4t? i followed the tutorial, skipping steps 7-10 as i’m using a differ sd card than my usual.
It may just be your SD card. I've used two, one works like a charm, the other only boots half the time and when it does it's awfully slow. In L4T 1.2 bylaws made a change that increased SD card compatibility but it slowed everyone else, so he reverted it in 1.3. You could try grabbing the 1.2 update zip from his thread and copying its files to the fat32 partition of your SD (overwriting the ones already there). Let me know if you try that and whether or not it works, if it does I might start posting a 1.2 image alongside my normal one.can anyone tell me why i only have a black screen when launching l4t? i followed the tutorial, skipping steps 7-10 as i’m using a differ sd card than my usual.

So, I spent a little above a few hours, and have got RetroArch to work just fine with one exception. Protip: make sure that, whatever you do, you put the CPU in performance mode on Ubuntu. Otherwise, you aren't getting the performance horsepower needed to drive performance in these emulators. For Reicast, the frames might not dip as much, though some games simply won't perform how you might expect. (the Training Stage in CvS2 is the most demanding stage in the game for some reason)
The only exception to RetroArch having everything working fine is the lack of PS1 emulation. I don't know what emulator Beetle PSX is based off of, but it sure is insistent upon using a specific BIOS file that, even when extracted to the right folder, it still won't load the game. Are .PBP files supported, or does it just want uncompressed .ISOs? Is there a reason why so many of the better cores are missing for RetroArch? I noticed that when you look at the available cores for the Linux build of RetroArch, it sure seems like a lot of the cores that are on PC are missing like PicoDrive, PCSX-ReARMed, and some builds of MAME that work with games that don't work with FBA? I don't know why the choice of cores is so limited. Is it because of emudrama with some of the standalone versions of emulators getting used for other projects like PCSX-ReARMed being used in the PS Classic?
Also, is there a way to play Atomiswave/NAOMI on Reicast by any chance? I have the games and other necessary components to run everything, but it's not on the list of available games. Is it simply not supported in this standalone version of the emulator?
The Switch doesn't come with an SD card.... I work at a popular retailer (U.S.), and I've never seen an official bundle include an SD card. I suppose it's possible you're from another (non-U.S.) region. I wouldn't know about those.so i did like you said and replaced the sd files with 1.2. it still fails for me after lauching l4t. the fans will kick in for a brief moment, and then black screen for a bit, and then its back in rcm mode. and about my sd card. what do you mean? its the stock sd that comes with the switch. i want to try my 200gb msd, but my emunand would be deleted.

@Silent_Gunner
I was also unable to get the PSX beetle core working.
The good news is, I was able to get PCSXR running standalone and it seems to run great! You will still need BIOS, I used scp1001.bin myself and had no problems.
Anyway, everyone can expect PCSXR and moonlight in the next image.
Feel free to share your configs of Lakka.
Not sure, I use the stable version of retroarch as the test version wasn't working last I tried. In the Bluetooth menu remove the joycons then repair them so that the LEDs are both blinking, then press l and r and they'll both have the player one light on. Careful not the press L3 accidentally as that toggles mouse control. There's no way to auto pair at boot. occasionally one will stay paired thoughOh I meant to ask, is Mupen next in this Retroarch any different to the Lakka version? Most N64 seem to work a little better in Lakka,
however I notice Yoshi's Story 64 works fine on Ubuntu, in Lakka running around/moving forward causes your game to drop from 60-20fps.
Also how to get joy cons working in the main desktop with mouse pointer movement? Pro controller syncs and works fine. Is their a way to have them running from when you boot Ubuntu also? Or once I can actually get them working will they have to be removed from the switch every time to sync them to bluetooth. According to bluetooth they end up connected yet I am able to do absolutely nothing with them ;P.
What is the difference between the torrent link NOOBS and the NOOBS in the guide? Should I get both or just use the one from the torrent link? Because the second is 18 GBs and idk which to use.
I'm talking about this file, which is step 2 or something of the guide:The torrent and the Google Drive links both point to the same file and it's only 6 GB.
The torrent file itself is much smaller but you just open it in whatever client you use (qbittorrent etc) and it downloads the 6GB file.
Either way once you have the file, you extract it and that's the one you flash to your SD card.
Step 1Rough Guide
What You'll Need:
1. Download NOOBS: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bkd-G2-HWR9CS3HxkNbZbug7tZXbrlU3/view?usp=sharing
- Flash drive
- microSD card (recommended size 32GB or higher)
- Computer with internet connection, SD card slot, and USB ports
2. Download balenaEtcher: https://www.balena.io/etcher/
3. Download GParted Live: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gp...ve-1.0.0-1-amd64.iso/download?use_mirror=iweb
4. Copy all the files off of your SD Card to a safe location on your computer.
