First and foremost, this is a build that I have been working on for a year or so, it has issues, and uses the mainline 5.0 kernel, and mesa drivers. All of the standard linux issues that applied before L4T Ubuntu still apply.

Second, I will not be supporting this build. I know it has issues, I am not going to try to fix them. The system is not optimized correctly, it randomly freezes, but does seem to recover..... for the most part. I also started an update on it at one point, I never bothered finishing. lol, So some apps dont work. And chromium that is there includes both wedevine and flash player, but still doesnt play most flash video.... Probably because it isnt linked against ffmpeg(Used an ubuntu package, instead of taking the week to compile chromium in an emulator.) There are a ton of issues, but I have used this build for the last 6 months as a portable music player/video player, and it seemed to do "alright" at that.

Third: The battery meter in kodi is wrong. Dont trust it. I have fixes, but I did them in a plugin, and that plugin changes skin variables. Unfortunatly, the skin I patched specifically has it in their license that you need permission from the Developers to use their skin with any kodi release. :(, hince it being removed.

The Password for both the root, and switch user is: switch

All that being said, the download can be found here: https://mega.nz/#!cMVSWI4b!ux4jJXkAT9PzTv6ZFGpxc5M8CFCcqq4p3LyFRiloNlo

Should be mentioned, since I removed all of the settings, game files, and other personal data from this build you will need to provide bios files for retroarch, and configure the joycons for both retroarch and kodi.

Instructions:

1. Extract the Tarball. Inside you will find 2 more tarballs.

2. Partition the SD card. This was set up to use swap space, and I didnt change any of the configs for this release. So partition your sd card as such.
1. boot(fat32)
2. Linux Swap(Could be any size, but standards say 2x the size of ram(8gb))
3. Linux Root(ext4)

3. Once the partitions are created, extract the 32bit_boot tarball to the boot partition of the sdcard, and the 32bit_root tarball to the root partition on the sdcard.

4. Re create home directories. Simple enough, just copy and paste this command:

cd <ext4_mountpath>;mkdir root; chown 0:0 root; mkdir home/switch; chown 1000:1000 home/switch

5. boot with hekate, and enjoy.

Nice release, even with the stated limitations, as the only way to play netflix I'm sure people will put it to use. Do you get the random freezes you mentioned if you're just playing netflix?

Yes, it is an issue with netflix, as it is an issue with a lot of things, Probably the most significant being a complete lack of neon support, and the gui lib freezing. There is also an issue with kodi crashing if you connect bluetooth headphones, but I think this is a pulseaudio issue. and sometimes kodi wont start, but if you erase the profile.xml it starts working again.

How is Kodi doing?? Acestream and Pleux works ?

I dont know, I didnt test all of the plugins, I know the ebook one is spotty at best, but netflix, amazon, etc all work. and for a while covenent worked(Not any more) I see no reason why your other plugins wouldnt. That being said, I built this for my use, and never planned on releasing it, and am abandoning it for Gentoo l4t. I might pick it back up if, big if, I can use the mesa driver with the l4t kernel. I doubt it though, but this is probably going to be the only option for netflix and kodi that is released, so use it at your own risk. It could also be cleaned up a bit, but that is it's own issue,

Gento L4t, huh ? Hmm.

By the way, Gentoo beta 6 for PS4 just released and is amazing and Kodi and many other emulators such as Dolphin and RPCS3 (PS3 emulator) games running fantastic. Saw the video!

I have other uses for it, than just emulators and such. I am an IT professional(kinda). lol. So there are tons of things I do in linux, and it will be nice to have a portable linux tablet to do them on, that I dont have to fight with too much, as I have been running gentoo for years. It is an awesome platform for creating your own personal distro, without the added work of slackware, or linux from scratch.

Anyone test any emulators on this yet?

I did, lol all of the kodi game ebuilds in the local repo was me getting them to install for kodi. ;) It wasnt a huge priority to get them all to work. As I have said, this was only released because I am done with it for now, and people want a kodi/netflix solution, and I have been sitting on one for months. That being said, some of the emulators work, some of them dont, some of them only work with certain games. Off the top of my head, I know NES, SNES, Sega Genesis/Master System/Gamegear, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and possibly GBA(Didnt test) work, and work in kodi. Parallel N64 and Mupen64 need to be ran in retroarch, as kodi 18 doesnt support retroarch with opengl or vulkan(Which isnt supported by mesa driver either) yet.

is this another pre build of L4T?
No, this is gentoo mainline, running a 32bit root for libwidevine support. This has nothing to do with L4T, and is not ubuntu, which is the current option for L4T(I am working on porting gentoo to the l4t sources, but that build wont support netflix in kodi.)

What part of I am not supporting this do people not understand. I explained what it is, and what the issues are. If you need someone to hold your hand while you follow the simple directions I left for the build, and screenshots, then this is not the build for you. That being said, it is the only build I know of that netflix and amazon prime work. It isnt that hard, but I am in the middle of building a new userspace, on my switch, so I cant just stop that, so I can attempt to take screenshots, on a build that has no tools for that. I am not going to fight to update something, to take screenshots of kodi 18, when there are tons of them online already. L4T doesnt have screenshots, people still managed to figure that out.
