Homebrew Help with completely removing custom software.

So I recently gave away my Wii U to a friend, and it had CBHC on it. He wants to remove all modded data on the Wii U, but I do not have the SD card containing all of the things I needed to run custom data. I've been out of the Wii U hacking scene for a while, so I'm not familiar with doing it myself. I remember using something called MochaCFW, but I do not remember anything else.

not having the original sd card is not a problem. you can just use another sd card and extract only the hbl and the cbhc installer into it as normal. then on the hbl select the cbhc installer, and press b to remove cbhc. then go to data management on the wii u settings menu, and delete haxchi. done!

will it be safe to factory reset after that point?

Also, once it is removed, will I be able to update the console? Because I keep getting an error message when attempting it.
