I'm used to installing NSPs but when I finally tried to install an XCI using the latest tinfoil from SD to my NAND i get an UNABLE TO START SOFTWARE message when I try and click the icon on my home menu. I also notice that it didn't install the full amount of the game and that the installing time was a bit short. It's my first time installing an XCI so i'm wondering if I did something wrong. Could someone possibly help me out here?

I think XCI installing is buggy on latest fw.
my guess would be to either convert the XCI to NSP or simply redownload a NSP version of whatever game you're trying to install.

Yes. 4NXCI. but you need to retrieve some console keys.text files (which for legal reasons) I can't link here..
there should be many tutorials out there about it.

are the console keys only specific to my console or could I find others online? Are they also firmware specific?

No I don't think so. They aren't keys needed to decrypt/mount eMMC or other partitions so they aren't tied to the console.

I tried using Lockpick and it says it cant give me the keys I need but to do Lockpick_rcm .. im trying to figure out how to run the program to get the bin but its like linux or something..

think i got it to work.. i got my prod.keys and renamed it to keys.txt.. just trying to figure the rest out from here...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

well im using the recommended program and I keep getting this error

"Unknown meta type! Are keys correct?"

I tried it on 3 different XCIs and I get this issue everytime.. what could be the problem here?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

alright turns out I did the key stuff wrong.. I managed to fix and obtain the right keys only to get THIS error..

"Invalid NCA magic!"

What version system version are you on? Newer games require newer keys.

NSCB is an awesome program as well and also requires keys.txt can go from xci to nsp and vice versa and include update and dlc in one if wanted

Is there something wrong with installing games to your nand? I always do it... Should i be installing to SD?
It doesn't make sense, your NAND has limited storage plus it significantly increases the size of your NAND backups... if you have a big enough SD, install them onto there.

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.

i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero

but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there
