I updated my emunand via ChoiDujour and I think I bricked my emunand!

My sysnand works normally but my emunand just hangs on a black screen. I think I made a mistake by not selecting (exFAT) which is my SD card's format.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix my emunand. Or am I screwed? :(

Do you mean clone the entire SD card onto my computer? Is there an app for that or do I just copy/paste all the files?
If you don't have a hidden partition for the NAND, I guess that that should do the job. But if you have the hidden partition, you can't just copy it over. That's why you'd have to make the SD image.

I have the hidden partition. :( So I'm using Win32DiskImager to make an image. Do you recon that will work?

Don't know. Never did it. But making an image makes a copy of your SD, which can be flashed to other devices again. So it should work.

I guess we will know in a couple of hours when I'm done copying the data. Whew what a stupid mistake I made.

One more question, do you think this could in any way be related to the AutoRCM thing? I don't understand what it is exactly but ChoiDujour had a checkmark next to it when installing the update.

It actually can. If you have enabled autoRCM in emuNAND, you won't be able to boot as well.

You can't on emunand (iirc). That's the thing. Did you install autoRCM onto your EmuNAND?

I think so. :( I dont think ChoiDujour really asked me or I skipped the options screen. I remember there being a checkmark next to AutoRCM (Don't blow fuses) during update.

Boot into SX OS boot Menu, go to Options => AutoRCM => Uninstall AutoRCM

See if your EmuNand will boot.

Since your EmuNand is Hidden partition, as far as the Switch or SX OS is concerned it doesn't care, what it does care is the data partition where all the files are kept, which for you is exFAT.
Because you updated the firmware using ChoiDujourNX and didn't select exFAT, here are a couple options to consider:

- In theory, this should work, backup ALL the files on your exFAT partition on the SD CARD to your PC, then you need to format exFAT partition to FAT32 using such apps like Gui Format. No need to worry about formatting your hidden partition, since it's hidden you wont be able to format it, just in case the format app sees the hidden partition, just make sure your formatting the exFAT partition only to FAT32. Once your SD CARD is FAT32, copy back your files (However if you have files larger than 4GB in size (XCI's), you will not be able to copy these, just leave these out for now) and try booting into EmuNand. If you to use exFAT again, then reinstall the FW 8.0.1 update again, this time disable AutoRCM and select exFAT. Once EmuNand is working, then you need to re format your FAT32 back to exFAT and copy all your stuff back again.

- If you got NO important stuff on your EmuNand, like installed NSP's, then just bite the bullet and format the exFAT to FAT32, boot into your EmuNand, then reinstall the FW 8.0.1 update again, this time disable AutoRCM and select exFAT. Once EmuNand is working, then you need to re format your FAT32 back to exFAT.

Next don't be so trigger happy and tap away, go slow and read what is on the screen.

Thanks so much. I tried the first thing and sadly it did not work. I had to completely uninstall my emunand and create a new one from my nand. I lost my save games and updates. HUGE lesson learned. Next time I'll be extra careful when I update my emunand. Any tips?

Only tip I can give is maybe consider creating EmuNand as files on microSD instead of hidden partition. That way you can backup your EmuNand before doing any future FW updates on EmuNand, if you stuff up, just copy back your EmuNand backup. Dont forget to backup the Emutendo folder as well since this is where your profile, saves and NSP/updates are stored, this makes for easy restore, if your on hidden partition for EmuNand, just clone you SD Card for backup.
