Hello guys!

I installed haxchi and cbhc loooong ago and everything worked absolutely fine up until some point where it would not boot anymore into the system menu with error code 160-0103
It just boots to the cbhc screen where I choose to boot system menu. I dont really know what happened last to the console since my mother had it when it broke but I explained everything she should not do to her..
Can this happen randomly? Is my WiiU maybe just too old? I got it back on release day and hacked it when all these things got avaliable

I can still boot into Homebrew Launcher and it seems like I also got backups of the otp and stuff (not of the mmc, but maybe I can still get this?) Is there a way to restore without a hardmod? Or is this maybe just a tiny fixable error?

Thanks!

Only a hardmod can save your console. Otherwise...a newcomer for this list. Have you formatted the console or removed the "Don't touch me" icon?

Nope, of course not. The icon was moved faaar away and my mom didnt even touch the settings because I told her not to.. :/

@Sethtimus Prime is a memory error from the console and has nothing to do with the card. I think his mom "cleaned up" the console a little bit. And by mistake she probably uninstalled cbhc. Now the console may boot into a deleted title, which makes a successful boot impossible.

No she hasn't, I explained everything to her and told her that the console is hacked and what could happen if she does things. (Trust me, I am very direct when it comes to my hardware)
The only thing she did was starting the WiiU and select "Boot Home Menu" and then she could play Zelda or whatever.
She never touched the settings or so, as I have moved this stuff far away and told her not too. (This woman has a PC and internet almost since it exists so I believe her when she says that)
She also never even started the Homebrew Launcher thing in cbhc up until I asked her to when the WiiU didnt start anymore.

For me it seems like the crash just happened randomly, but what I dont understand is:
If the system menu or nand is crashed why can the DS Title with CBHC still start? if the nand is corrupted the DS title shouldnt work too since its also on the nand, right?

Another cbhc console bites the dust....such a waste.
CBHC worked absolutely great and still works but the system menu wont boot anymore, so it looks more like a error from the WiiU itself. Its a launch WiiU so its pretty old now..
Also everytime I researched all bricks related to CBHC these were also related to stupidity of the user :D

It just boots to the cbhc screen
So nobody removed the DS title or did a factory reset :)

I can still boot into Homebrew Launcher
Then you should be able to connect via FTP and/or install titles* to attempt to fix the issue - do note that installing a launcher will disable CBHC (as people who updated to 5.5.3 noticed)
* if using the HBL non-channel version (which is the case by running it directly from CBHC) will switch to Wii U Menu to get permission to install titles - this may not end well, try with an inoffensive game first maybe

Also, did you try the obvious "unplug external disk" step? :)

Do you have any idea what could be the issue? Or is there a guide on how to uninstall titles via. FTP?
I can still use the HBL through CBHC and I already made a backup of the otp and stuff where the application would boot without problems (WiiU Logo showed and nandextract started)

Is there maybe even an homebrew do uninstall titles? For me the problem is still suspicious since CBHC and the DS Title still boots, just the menu wont..

Not really...

It's far from trivial to cleanly do so (also removing the stuff from title and ticket databases), but in a pinch just removing their folder (the one containing code/content/meta) will do

As for restoring a nand backup, there's no software option because nobody made one (the same is true of the majority of Wiis without a gamecube controller...)

This is why I never messed with cbhc, pressing haxchi was easy enough

can't argue with that but for this case, it is not a CBHC problem - he can still run it.
His system menu or something else got corrupted and if he can't even boot up the system menu - how can he launch haxchi? His WiiU is probably RIP without CBHC

Should have pulled the SD card out if you was using CBHC .. It's what I do with my young ones
so to use cbhc the sd card needs to be inside the console for it to boot? thats a new one. my sd card is always inside my wii u and when it is already on i pull it out to copy some games to it

i think your mom installed a corrupted game to the nand. ask her if she did and if she indeed did, ill teach you how to delete it.

NO CBHC doesn't need the SD card .... But HBL does ... did you read my post wrong ?
