Is SX OS Emunand compatible with 8.0.1?
I'm currently on 4.0.1 sysnand and 7.0.1 emunand.
Should I update my sysnand, also?

Does anyone else not find it rather strange that Nintendo has now rolled out two updates since 7.0.1 and all online features still work? This is not normal or they just do not realise or maybe they are clearly not bothered anymore forcing an update for online feature use. Maybe Nintendo has now been legally forced to allow online use on an update. I know Nintendo UK have been looked into lately on their terms and conditions I think there was a gbatemp front page news report on all this not so long ago, they probably have had to change it on future update roll outs from now on. I think it’s right you should be able to access online use on a pending firmware update especially when your forced to pay an annual subscription to use it! I mean you might not want to update your switch for some reason but still want to use your games online and why not!

They aren't archived bit. That's why.

Are you sure? I just got another dump and it has a few extra files. Choidujournx also likes it.

WIth the first dump I had Choidujournx said there was something missing.

Tried a few games and they all work under 8.0.1 so far

Can confirm de Blob works :)

The one that was on xbins was missing exfat files. If you choose regular fat32 it's 209/209 but with exfat it is 209/211 which throws the error. But haven't found anywhere else that has it yet.

Edit: Yeah xbins didn't have all the files, found the right one, with 213.

This is the EXACT comment I was looking for! I never updated mine, or my sons Switch beyond 7.0.1, but was able to purchase and download from the Eshop just fine, as well as update my current games. No nag to update the system first, in fact, neither of my systems seemed to have downloaded 8.0.0/8.0.1 in the background, while online either?

It would be really nice if this is a sign of things to come, but I think they just goofed up on their end on the version checks and could be fixed up at any moment, so grab and update all you can, while you can!

Your time is limited, it will require the latest firmware in about a week.

It was well over a week since firmware 8.0 was dropped on 7.0.1 and online features still work on 7.0.1 even on the now pending update 8.0.1 so the week limit has now gone out the window. No I think different, if Nintendo was going to force an update on all online features on a new pending update I’m pretty sure they would of done that by now with 8.0.1

Edit: I’ve noticed it does ask for a system update if you start your games but if you decline it and click on start software instead you can still go ahead and start the game and use it online as normal.

Already did it, and I enabled autoRCM so I didn't burn fuses. Should I update my sysnand? And should I stay at 7.0.1 on emunand?

Highest emunand ive been able to get running is 7.01 and with sysnand 8.01

So emunand on 7.1 and sysnand on 8.1 will work?
With autorcm too? Because I remember autorcm was broken sometime ago.
SysNAND can be on whatever firmware you want but EmuNAND cannot be updated to 8.X since SX OS does not support that firmware yet. Also AutoRCM was never broken. If your SysNAND firmware exceeds what SX OS supports, you will not be able to boot into SysNAND because the "OFW" option is not really OFW. Its just a way of turning the console on without any patches or homebrew but prevents fuses from being burnt.

I currently am on 7.0.1 emunand and have SXOS 2.6.2.

If I update my Sysnand to 8.0.1 via Nintendo servers, will I still be able to boot up to emunand 7.0.1 via sx dongle?

I want to be able to play my homebrew off emunand and play my store bought games off sysnand.

Even this seems long. I have experienced lack of online abilities within a day, of a new firmware coming out.

It's possible they aren't checking the version but using keys to check, and since they haven't updated the keys since 7 they have no way to block it off.

Hi, I have a Nintendo Switch on 7.0.1 with autorcm and with 2 fuses burned, today I downloaded the 8.0.1 update with 213 files, but a friend told me that I can update my Switch without using ChoiDuJourNX and without burning fuses, is that true? (I use Atmosphere in Kosmos and normally I'm in stock firmware, I only use CFW to make a backup of my saves with Checkpoint).
Thanks in advance.
