The answer will always be google when asked this question. You would have to be paid over $100 to use Bing. Or maybe free xbox games :)

As much as I hate it, Google.

Why do you hate it? Most people seem fine with it

I can't speak for DinohScene but I can tell you why I quit using google many years ago. Other than the reason STwert already stated.
A. They gather, keep and never delete all information on users.
B. They for all intents and purposes are a monopoly (with over 90% of market share)
C. They rig search results so that you only see what they want you to.
D. They suppress any view not aligned with their own
These next ones do not specifically pertain to google search or chrome and maybe should be in a different thread but.
E. They discourage competition. If they see someone with a really great product they simply buy them out. Like youtube for instance.
F. If they can't buy great developers who are making ground breaking apps or apps they do not approve of, they simply find a way to shut them down.
And the list goes on.

Duckduckgo isn't as privacy minded as you think
1.Its a us based company so it has to follow us law This means the fbi nsa can request data from duckduckgo
2.Its not fully open source
3.It stores some info about its users
I suggest using searx.me or startpage.com

I know that but I still trust them and I use it over tor when I’m searching for things I don’t want anyone to know
They are still much better than google or bing or yahoo

Thank you for that information Idontknowwhattoputhere. Yes you are right and I am always open to new privacy alternatives. Thank you for the tip about searx.me. After your original post in this thread, I immediately added it to my icecat browser.
@Extrasklep, I agree with you also. Matter of fact, even if I'm not doing a search for critical information, I still don't want to use google and give them ANY info on me. Lol

If you want to be a bit more serious about privacy, using DuckDuckGo through Tor Browser is a good idea.
The reason for this is that the U.S. government can essentially force DuckDuckGo to provide information for them, and DuckDuckGo isn't legally allowed to say that they've done so.
