Hi I'm trying to install atmosphere 0.8.2 with this video

Get rid of files on your SD, and use these along with the additional sig patches in the kosmos pack you should be good to go, make a nand backup with Hekate.
Thanks I downloaded the files, Is hakate the first thing i should do? how do i get into hakate? and also, fatal error isn't the end of the world?

Well try the files that I suggested , if it boot then get rcm dongle and boot hekate or atmosphere from the dongle.

Hekate is a boot loader, if you don't want to use one you can just use fusee-primary.bin as your rcm payload. Easier if you boot off a dongle than pushing a payload on a computer everytime. You would use hekate to make a nand backup.

Sorry i'm just so confused, kind of new to this. When you say try the files you mean delete all old files off then put Kosmosv12.zip's onto the root of the sd ? Also I'm using the foil jig for rcm mode

Yea just replace your old files with these new one, you would want to use a real jig not a aluminum foil

You would want to use a real jig not aluminum, you will damaged your switch by using aluminum in the long run.
I've heard that, i'll be getting a real jig sometime for sure. What are the next steps since the kosmo files are on my sd?
