How can I reboot to the payload I want?
Currently on Atmosphere on 7.x and I want to reboot to another payload than atmo (hekate or sxos), can I do that?

Thanks

Use the reboot to payload NRO which can be accessed from the Homebrew Menu

The NRO just raises an error and allows you to reboot to the payload at atmosphere\reboot_payload.bin

You can replace the payload mentioned with any payload you want, just rename it to "reboot_payload.bin"

The homebrew nro included with atmosphere will only reboot to a specifically named payload at its specified path, but the source could be adapted to use any other filename/path, or to let you select a file from SD before rebooting. I was thinking about working on this, but I'm lazy and was asking around if anybody had done it yet, and someone suggested that I use argonnx as the payload to reboot to instead - this lets you choose other payloads from a nice touchscreen interface. So that's what I'm trying out for now.

Hey! Would you mind giving me a little setup about it.

I know i need the homebrew nro. What else? Any extra folders? Any extra files on an specific location?

Thanks, i saw that, the question would be more, do i need something else?

I mean, i can just put the nro on my switch file, create a folder named atmosphere thats empty and put the "reboot_payload.bin" (that would be SX bin) there, and nothing else? Just those things? Or do i need any other file from atmos (like the files inside the atmos folder)

All this is assuming that im rebooting into SX, not atsmo/kosmos/reinx.

Someone linked this in another thread. It allows multiple payloads to be used/selected.

That is correct. You only need the homebrew NRO and the payload file (named reboot_payload.bin) in the atmosphere folder. And you have to be using SX OS 2.6.

SX doesn’t support reboot to payload.
SX OS 2.6 now supports this feature.

You can reboot into custom firmware via the standard power menu?

So if your switch crashes or you use the built in power menu SX OS doesn't reboot to CFW, and you still need to inject a payload?

As I said, SX OS doesn't support reboot to payload.
Not gonna argue semantics. I guess we both should've been more specific when we said that reboot to payload does or does not work.

The reboot to payload homebrew app works in SX OS. Rebooting to a payload after a crash or using the shutdown menu does not work in SX OS. Happy now?

hmm I wonder if you unpack the atmosphere folders / files to the SD card might that then have the needed modules for the reboot on crash etc. to work with SX OS.

TX implemented Reboot to Payload in SXOS. You need a Homebrew Software from WAIN to do this.
They "implemented" nothing. Support for the homebrew app probably ended up in there by accident. Also, just rebooting to payload homebrew works. Not the reboot to payload when console crashes.
Nice necrobump btw
