It looks like DENUVO has been removed from Sonic Mania in the last beta patch some users have reported that .exe size has decreased from 117MB to 3MB. Sonic Mania had problems in the past due to DENUVO implementation.

SEGA removed DENUVO from Yakuza 0 and their new releases don't have it. Looks like SEGA isn't adding DENUVO anymore to their games.

Hmm, how do I do that, or rather, how and where do I enter that password? Where did you get that? Seems kinda unstable to download no?
Right-click on the game in Steam -> Beta tab -> Write the code
It shouldn't be unstable in BETA patches they also fix bugs and things like that.

Seemed to have work, says "update queued", heh nice, and now the tag [community beta] shows up next to the game :P

People are reporting that it now takes 10 seconds when it took 40 with DENUVO

Hmm, will test now, and report back after trying it, will add an "edit" addendum :P

Edit: I'll be damned, it is faster

Edit 2: App is 3 MB now

YES!
Fucking finally!
I hope more companies follow, like Capcom.

Denuvo is nothing more of a fucking parasite to the games.
It only compromises performance to add this shitty anti-piracy crap.

Also, Denuvo got their ass handed to them... and hard.
After they went after Voksi for cracking games (albeit months after initial release), they are now dealing with other contenders for the Denuvo cracking contest, and these ones have no mercy, getting games cracked within the first week of the game's release.
Just look at the most recent AAA title, Resident Evil 2 Remake, was cracked within the first 6 days.

It was all for the better.
No Denuvo all the way, shit like this needs to die in the gaming community.

Did you enter the beta code as well? sonicmaniabeta is the one to use to opt in the beta updates for the game :P

Whoever though Denuvo was a good needs to be kicked in the crotch. DRM does nothing to deter piracy.

It is really interesting the fact the .exe file of the game can fit in ~3 floppy disks, but the DRM makes it +100 megs
fucking denuvo...

Finally Sega does something right, Ubisoft though is all like "but muh DRM!" fucking pantywaists.
Apparently DMC V has an official Denuvo free executable that you can download to remove it from The game.
