it has never been safe.
CFW and homebrew = ban, might not be immediate.
Will come faster if you install nsp.
Sounds like the same bullshit that plagued the modding scene since the first xbox.

"It's not safe!!11"

When it's pretty much safe for the vast majority who don't pirate or hack gamesaves.

I guess we don't have enough users not pirating to report then.
I never installed nsp or played xci, or hacked a gamesave nor restored an old one but it could be useful to use checkpoint to restore saves. I only launched nro, but had some crashes reports so I don't know if it would ban me or not.
it would require me to restore my NAND (to be safe in case crash report mattered), then update, and check online to see if I'm banned or not, try some more homebrew to see if it's safe and risk ban if not, wait few days to see if it would happen, re-dump and re-block myself for another offline period to prevent updates. So, I can't answer based on my experience, only based on other user's report and the ban thread's logs.

Apologies was at work when I wrote that so I did not check the user's name

no problem, thats who I thought you meant but wasnt sure :) i took the same approach, downloaded the atmos source files and overwrite with the sigpatches by the-4n :). you know 'nuke them pesky NSPs from orbit' - its the only way to be sure :ninja:

Hey Guys, just read the last couple of posts and i'm wondering why isn't noone mentioning 90DNS for going online (like for homebrew which is using wifi), but blocking Nintendo Servers? Isn't that safe anymore?
Also, i'm on 7.0.1 and installing NSP is working fine on the latest nightly build of goldleaf, but only if you install it from a sd card, usb didnt work for me (sigpatch error). If your nsp is bigger than 4GB you have to split it up beforehand by using nsp-split, then open nx-shell on your switch enable dev options in the options menu, select the _split folder you just copied (by selecting i mean highlight it, NOT the checkmark), click on "more" then set the archive bit. Then open up the goldleaf 0.5 nightly an install the nsp - done :)

Oh and btw, if you havent done so yet, copy ftpd on your sd card, you can transfer files easily with that over ftp, even homebrew (like the goldleaf nightly)

Reports have come out that 90DNS doesn't block updates properly. But apart from that it's fine. (I'd take it over incognito anyday).

And yeah that's to be expected. It's an experimental nightly build. But good job on finding a solution.

And yes I use FPTD occasionally but I have a FAT32 SD Card and the speeds are mediocre.

Oh ok, didn't hear about the rumors... but i'm not playing online or do anything online at all (not even eShop) with my cfw switch, i only use it because i'm paranoid and in the case the switch is calling home automatically from time to time (and to block updates of course :D) - so i think 90DNS should still be fine...

And the thing about FTPD: Yeah it depends... to copy over homebrew and small stuff like that it's really nice that you don't have to switch out the sd card everytime, but for bigger nsp it takes a while. just copied about 6gb 2 hours ago and it took about 30min - but i think this is fine, i don't have to copy so much data that often :)

Was running 6.2 with atmoshpere flawlessy, could download and install nsps without worries. Then I was stupid enough to leave the internet settings as they were which resulted in an update to 7.0.1. Now I've gotten the latest atmosphere release and the sigpatches from this thread. I can boot into atmosphere without worries but I can't run any of my old downloaded games. Is this expected behaviour or have I done something wrong? I am unsure if Atmosphere is installed correctly because I can't see any homebrew at all from the dev menu, even if I try to put goldfoil in my switch folder, nothing pops up.

Hey I am also on 0.8.5 + kosmos patches and 2.0-7.01 patches. What works for me is the goldleaf 0.3 + goldtree 0.3. On 0.3 you will need to install the nsp and then close goldleaf and do it again per NSP install. I have tried 0.5, 0.4 and nothing.

I would say try Goldleaf 0.5 + Goldtree 0.4
https://bsnx.lavatech.top/goldleaf/

if that does not work try 0.3.................let me know if you are able to make 0.5 work.

So im converted BOTW xci to nsp. Now I have two NSP files. I need to split them to install on my fat32 sd card. Only one of the two NSPs is over 4gb. Once i split the first NSP, what do I do with the second NSP that doesnt need to be slpit, and how do I install. At a dead end here as all my instsalls in tinfoil, goldleaf and dev menu are failing

Just updated via ChoidujourNX my Switch to 8.0.1, using latest Kosmos Pack. But some NSPs won´t load, already get the patches for my version without success (and some games won´t update, gives me error of sigpatches on Goldleaf: 0x234a02, Module FS2, Invalid NCA, missing sigpatches or too low firmware). Any suggestions?

I dunno man, remember when homebrew apps were reporting custom error messages and getting people banned? Remember when the suggested advice was to run dreport every boot to remove your error messages and then it was found out that running dreport got you banned? I don't trust them when say it's safe and neither should you.

No, I don't. I started in November. Still have yet to get banned. I've run NSPs online (though haven't tried to play with others online). Atmosphere is safe barring complete stupidity.
