Hey everyone! It's my 20th birthday next month and I am trying to decide what Switch game I should get for myself.

I just played the Shining Resonance Refrain demo, and enjoyed it. Without spoilers, how does the rest of the game hold up? I am also considering Forgotton Anne or Atelier Lydia and Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings. I've also heard that Octopath Traveller is very good.

Those of you who have played these games, which one would you consider the best use of my limited funds?

I haven't played any of the others to be honest, but Octopath Traveler is fantastic. What I really like about it is how it flushes out the world with all of the character specific actions. The combat is nice too, but there's nothing too stellar about it either. If you like rpgs though I would definitely go for it though. Also I know it's not on your list, but Wizards of Legend is a solid title and makes for some decent co-op. There'a also Diablo III (I prefer the console versions of this one), but I love sinking time into games like that

Thanks! I've heard a lot of really good things about Octopath Traveller.

have not played the annie games, they really never click with me.
but i have played parts of octopath and here's the thing.

dont go into this expecting a ff6-esque story about 8 heroes with their own issues comming together to beat one more grand issue to save the world.
it's like 8 rather separate short-stories, where the other 7 characters are pretty much exclusively just quietly hanging around for the fights whenever you tackle one characters story.
the stories are nice, but nothing amazing. no interaction between the characters.
the fighting is nice, but it's also endlessly repetitive and unlike final fantasy, you cant just mash a to get through.

go check the demo if its still around.
