So I referred to this guide: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-setup-emunand-keep-sysnand-online.520471/
But Im confused and would like some help.
There are 3 EmuNand Options.
1. Which one y'all recommend? Hidden OR SD or in Memory?
2. If i choose memory can I play XCI files directly from my SD card while using EMUNAND which will be in my memory?
3. What EmuNand file size to choose. Its like there is 5 10 15 GB but for what exact purpose.
4. I would like to save space on my memory card which is why im thinking to use and install EmuNand on the System memory.
5. Can I use different CFW on my EmuNAND like lets say Atmosphere/Kosmos or ReinX?
And a few basic steps to help guide me for setting this up SINCE AGAIN IM CONFUSED AT THAT GUIDE.

1. Hidden is the better option, but you need at least 32GB of free space on your SDCard. It gonna take that amount of space.

2. You can Play XCI using your SD card or a HDD if you want.

3. It ask you if you dont hide the emunand, but if you can choose, make a 5GB because that is the amount of space it gonna take from your SD Card

4. I dont recommend you to install emunand on your switch Nand

5. No. Right know only SX OS supportd emuNand

The reason of No. 4 is because when you install emunand on your system Nand, it gonna take that part from your system Nand. It means you instead of having 28GB showing on your system memory, you just get 28GB - The size of your emunand. We dont know already if Nintendo can or cant track that (Some People said Yes, and other said no) I personally dont prefer to take that risk. The main point of emunand is that you can use your sysnand for all your ogirinal games and online and emunand with all your XCI or Nsp

The hidden emunand is what it calls. Is hidden on your SDCard and you cant access to that easily. Thats why, to stay hide from Nintendo

Oh thanks for telling me that however for a 5gb emunand a 32gb is required?
thats confusing
I have a 64gb but how does your above statement make sense?

I dont remember if it gonna ask you if you want a different size of emunand than 32GB. But if you have that option use the smaller one. I recommend you to start using a HDD for other ganes thst you dont care to have on the go

What does having smaller emunands even do?

I really dont know. You can install games or updates on that portion, but if you have a SD card inserted, automatically your switch saves everything on the SD Card
Would I need to factory Reset any of my NANDS?
Ive heard people saying switch deleting stuff from our SD Card as we initialize the console.
So we should insert the SD card in the NAND we want to use?

It depends on what you have. The best you can do is always unlink your Nands. For example if you want only retail on your sysnand and all your backups on your emunand, then you have to format your emunand and start installing all your games again (Make sure to always backup all your saves data).
If you only play backups, then format your sysnand so you dont gonna loose anything

But no matter what you do, just remember to use sysnand for your retail and online, and your emunand for your XCI or NSP and NEVER go online with emunand

SXOS separatas your sysnand and your emunand with Nintendo and emutendo folders. But when you create a emunand it gonna format your SD Card, so first make sure yo make a backup of all your files

So lets say I want to play XCI's/NSP's on EmuNand and play cartridge or eshop games on Sysnand then what would you recommend formatting?
Plus I want EmuNAND to run games installed via the SD CARD so I want my SD card specifically for EMUNAND so whats the best option of formatting which one?

If that is the case, you need two separates SD Card. One for sysnand and a Nintendo folder and the second one with Emutendo folder.

If you never played backups, meaning you still having a clean sysnand with only eshop and cartridges, then make a emunand and format your emunand. SX OS can use HDD too, so you can have mores XCI/NSP on it. But if you already Play backups and you have a mix of your backups and originals, I probably format boths (Make a backup of all your saves first). The thing is to separarte your originals froms your backups. Doesnt matter what you wanna do

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
