What hd texture pack are you using, and how did you name it. A few guide steps would be appreciated :)

Are you playing overclocked or "only" with the new dynarec core?

Played Majora's Mask for a couple hours yesterday and got a bunch of crashes. Getting the Moon's Tear, Approaching Kamaro, fighting the Dodongos under one of the big mushrooms, dancing with a scarecrow all caused crashes. What's weird is that loading a savestate and trying again usually worked.

Was running pretty much fullspeed with no overclock otherwise though.

what settings did you use to get the full speed?

All settings are pretty much default. I'm using the core from the 1-14-19 17:00 nightly. I have Threaded Video = Off, Framebuffer Emulation = False. And of course CPU Core = dynamic recompiler. I still get some slowdowns when entering a new area and other random parts, but 95% of the time it's full speed. Playing docked in 720p with the zfast-crt shader applied. Looks really nice on a 4k TV.

Anyone using this with SX OS with full ram usage?
I was for a few days but it never seemed to save my menu driver option (Ozone). It would always default to some other driver. Now I just use the NSP. For what it's worth, playing Majora's Mask I experienced the same crashes using both the NSP and launching with R for full RAM access.

Is that the build linked at start of the thread? If not could you link it? I ask cause I tried MM and it wasn't nice XD

If you click the "Latest Switch Builds" link in the OP, you'll find the nightlies. They are potentially the best/fastest/most optimized, but also potentially have the most bugs. Use at your very own risk.

Here's the direct link to the build I referenced:
http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/nintendo/switch/libnx/2019-01-14_RetroArch.7z
After you unzip it, just grab the mupen64 nro from the retroarch > cores folder and replace it in the retroarch > cores folder on your SD card. I like to rename the previous build to something like "mupen64plus_libretro_libnx.nro.OLD" just in case the nightly is completely broken. That way I can easily revert back to a working core.

Here's the link to all of the Switch nightlies:
http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/nintendo/switch/libnx/
The "latest" folder is where you'll get the bleeding edge stuff. I like to live dangerously so I've been grabbing the latest mupen64 core every night.

Cheers, I somehow completely missed that XD

@ShadowOne333 Mate you might wanna update the first post to take all current N64 things into account.
Since there's either OC or the new dynarec (or even both at the same time) you could add that and the preferable settings (especially core settings) to adjust for best results. :)
Also the texture pack thing (written on the last few posts) could be added.
Here's a good source for texture packs (scroll down): https://emulationking.com/nintendo64/

Edit: Unless you were already planning to do so but just wanted to wait until all those things are being added to the stable version. Then ignore my post. :P

Let's add to the news, shall we ;)

As for Mupen64, I will update the OP with the new info, but just mention it briefly and saying it's in the nightlies as a beta for testing purposes.

Woohoo so Dreamcast might become a thing on the Switch soon too.
Just updated the N64 section in the OP ;)
And yeah!
Although I'm not sure if that would make it playable at good speeds on the Switch, only the devs can tell.

Also, @m4xw I added the info on the N64 section in the OP about your work on Mupen64 and your Patreon to raise awareness of it :)
Let me know if you want me to put that info in a more visible place of the OP, or if it's okay if I leave it in the N64 section.
